Hi,jamrock33 what box are you using. I have both Spot i5 and i7.
My i5 was working great with the new firmware with no freezing at all.
I use the i7 all the time and with the new firmware dated 01/03/16 it has been working without any freezing at all..
What i did find with both boxes is if there is any noise or sticks form the power source it would freeze or go blank on the screen.
I have all my boxes running through a good ups power supply with good filtering.
I think this is due to not enough filtering on the supplied power packs or the boxes motherboard.
I will post this on i5 and i7 forum posts.
Cheers
Kevin

I see most info on this box has dribbled to a slow.
My problems persist, even after Inphic kindly sent me a new case and remote to try and beat the problems I was experiencing.
Stupid me tried and decided to have one "last go" with this box before I disconnected it for ever.
1st up I decided to look if there was any system update available.
Mine says it has Build Number KOT49H20151218test-keys and Kernel Version 3.10.33 kc@kc-server#1 Thu Nov26 15:28:12CST 2015
I then went to the update screen in the main menu, where it has all the info on wiping data etc,and selected the blue update tab
That was my first mistake..it came up with an error message straight away, and the box was stuck, no response from any key on the remote.
Thus I disconnected it, waited, reconnected.
Zilch..nothing.
About 50 times later, I get it responding and have it back to it's main menu.
Naturally, I will not touch it any more, as I am too afraid of what may happen next.

Well, i'm going to try the latest firmware on mine.
most apps just don't work right.
Play store doesn't load. just a white screen.
kodi crashes to home at least twice before working.
most other apps crash a few times before working.
I have a blue case with white remote and included remote is almost useless.
It lets me turn it on if i'm on top of the device.
I have to use a remote with dongle made for android in order to do anything and even then the interface is sluggish or it just scrolls super fast as if a button is stuck.
I'm going to take the case off to see if that allows me to at least use the included remote the way it's supposed to work.

Thanks for your update nitro...I wonder how sales for these units actually went? Other than here, I can't seem to see much interest. Good luck, with swapping the case over, as it made no difference to mine. I just think these were something new, with little testing beforehand, and we ended up as guinea pigs, so to speak. It may be best to cut our losses and consign them to the bottom of the trash pile?

Do you have the anti-freezing patch installed?
Can you take the top of case off and try to put on a heat sink and see if it's still malfunctioning?Last edited by INPHIC - Jim; 21 April 2016, 07:14.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOURS AGAIN WASTED TRYING TO GET THIS BOX TO WORK AFTER AGAIN TRYING TO FIX IT.
Yes, I tried your update.
Here are 3 x pics.
First one shows the screen button blue to do the update
SEcond one the message.
Third one what my box does now.
It is not doing nothing other than the continuous loop of the Inphic logo.
I have connected and disconnected power over n over.
I have disconnected hdmi leads.
It will not turn off at all via any remote button.
The only way to stop it is pull the power lead.
On reconnection, it goes into auto blue stand by light, and puts the spinning useless Inphic logo there until I disconnect it again.
Not only did I waste my money, but continue to devote useless time with it as well ! Some say that is part of the "hobby"? Maybe so, but by doing nothing other than an inbuilt menu routine, it should function at least.
I am so "over this "
how to take a screen shot
how to print screen on pc

Yes.
applied anti-freezing patch that was posted a month ago.
that seemed to make things better.
but I didn't use it for a week and that's when I saw all kinds of instability issues.
I have some heat sinks for my Raspberry PI. i'll toss one on after I get it apart.
thanks.
