Hi does nyone know how to reinstall Google play store after i deleted it using root explorer as i was trying to manually update it. Thank you for your help

Maybe try flashing open gapps from twrp? I haven't tried it myself though.

I just tried it, and it doesn't work. After flashing and clearing dalvik/cache and reboot, then 'android is optimizing' has finished, a pop up error message appear: 'Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped.' The error message keep appearing after pressing ok and cannot be dismissed. So, don't try it. Fortunately for me, my box is fresh install so it is not a big deal as I'm going reflash it again.

Beta 4 in uploading
- AutoFramerate (system patch) works on mxplayer and i hope in some other apps (does not depend on rom but on app developer) active by default; to activate/deactivate go to settings deactivate/activate hdmi self adaptation, is in playersettings.;
- updated some apps;
- readded Backup/update app.
- some litte experimentation around.

the remote control does not work anymore.
usb mouse works but not ideal with my furniture. is it possible to make the original remote control work again ?
easier for me to test the rom.

You need to replace the remote.conf in system/ect with the correct config located in system/media/remote_confs.

First i tried installing with sd update but my x96 seemed to be stuck at bootanimation (or i was not patient enough). After that i flashed it with usb burning tool 2.0.8 and that went fine. The remote.conf works but it's probably not a surprise that i was not able to turn on my device after turning it off. Is there any chance that beta4 will solve the issue? If not, i will try a bunch of stock firmwares to see if sd card update will work from those and ofcourse let you know if any of them does. I hope updating to your rom by sd from another stock firmware will solve the issue. I really like the box and your rom as well, however (might be off topic) retrospect addon for dutch missed broadcast streams still isn't stable. If i can't get my remote to power on the device i might fix a hardware solution for the time being, a power button between the box and the adapter plug. Or a wireless power switch. I really hope a lot of x96 users will like your rom so there might be a chance that you can build a device specific rom with remote power on support. Keep up the good work If i can be of assistance supplying you files from stock rom, just say so...

I seem to have this same problem after flashing the beta. In settings I don't see an 'accounts' section, just an 'add account' option. When I click that, I see a message, "gathering data" and get stuck there.

I've done a clean install (recovery: wipe, format) but still get stuck at the same place.

a very interesting news that come from this thread is x96 can be powered on using number "2" on x96 remote, is some user with nexbox can test the remote keys one to one, maybe we/i can understand where some small issues come, and maybe one day can solve for many of you. I think jimgandia wrote something some pages ago.

In that rom the guy lists a fix to home button where you change system\usr\keylayout\Vendor_0001_Product_0001.kl
Maybe changing this file or another in this directory does the job.

on nexbox the issues comes from a different bootloader used by manufacturer, but if another key can power on the device, "maybe" is just a few byte mod to do to bootloadr file. changing values in the file you posted will cause issues on other more standard devices.

indeed it will cause issues as i have found out i was able to change the behavior of the power button or to use another button to power off the device, but whatever i tried, i still had to press button 2 to turn it on or even the remote didn't work at all. I also have been messing around with other files in the keychars and keylayout folder but without success.

I know it because i tried libreelec on my m8sii and wifi didn't work.
I asked to s905x libreelec developer and he told me my wifi chip was ap6212a. I send him my android wifi drivers folder and he added support for it in libreelec...

You say LibreElec works with AP6212A chip after you sent the files to the devs of LibreElec. Do you mean the 7.0.3.012c version? Because I can read (on the LibreElec forum) that there are issues with the 7.0.3.012d version and the AP6xxx WiFi/BT chip.

So tosu , i need files to compare or are just words, i never found a fw with AP6212A files different from mine, and i know what i mean.
If someone can give me files from a system born with Ap6212A chip that i can compare or add, it's good, but magically none has different files from mine and none can provide me a simple files, they mostly just read what someone wrote, without any evidence.
Anything different from this are just words, impressions, or "someone told me", not fact.
Fact are firmwares files: nvram_ap6212a.txt that is yet inside /system/etc/wifi/6212 directory

At first to sell this box, users complained about poor performance of the wifi with the ap6212 chip. After an OTA in August this was solved. Maybe the manufacturer has to improve those ap6212a files for better performance? I'm just saying that maybe this is happening to this ap6212a but from what I see there is no more ota and stayed in v.109.
I in the box of the ap6212a came down at a speed of 8 times less. Less sensitivity, worse performance?
Now I can not do anything with my box with chip AP6212A, without wanting to deteriorate the chip wifi and it does not work. I had v106. Maybe v.109 improved?
Someone with boxes with the 2 chip can tell their experience

It is possible that looking for another device with that chip and seeing that the operation is optimal can use those files.
I only tell my experience, maybe my chip had a malfunction and only happened to me. But I see that there are others with problems here.
