Really bad to hear that At least good that 4K with h.265/HEVC codec doesn't have streaming problem, but also only when amcodec enabled. Any video in any format doesn't run perfectly when amcodec disabled!

By HW problems..do you mean something like...Plug in the box and watch the blue light and have no signal...then unplug and replug and blue light but no signal...go away and make coffee and after hmm... 2 minutes watch the box suddenly boot-up like there had never been a problem?
If that is what you men by HW problems then I have a second box(Fasttech) that is wonky, but, this has not happen every cold boot.
I see the potential of the 3g/32g combo. 3 gigs of ram makes a difference especially in Kodi/SPMC. The s912 chip seems powerful enough...just quality control is cheap-out with H96 Pro+?

Im having the exact same problem but more like 20 minutes to start back up after restart. I have tried to reflash with sd card the same way but it never takes even tried reflashing this rom and that won't even take now.
so I'm at a loss now could there been a chance I deleted the boot loader first time I done it any ideas or help would be much appreciated.

Take a look at the "' .ini" file on your micro-sd and if erasebootloader=1 then yes you did erase it, but, I saw a sample file on these forums and the member had selected erase(in their sample " .ini" file and had reported success) I can't locate the reference link ... my erasebootloader=0, so not sure of your situation.
If it still manages to turn on be thankful...or try to return for repair. I'm about to contact Fasttech about this problem on my second China-box...maybe they will be helpful?

Just downloaded and no problem here... the MD5 is for the zip and not for the IMG inside it!

Hello superceleron, I ve sent you a beer check ppl.

I bought the H96 Pro Plus (3/32) and ... damn, wi-fi was not hiting more then 24 mbit/sec on 5ghz AC wi-fi, got me so frustrated... anyway, I used the SD card method to flash your rom and ... BOOM.

DTS passtrough also did not work previously, now everything works like a charm.

Keep up the good work, the box is a beast, hitting 47K in antutu, can`t wait to see your next editions!

p.s. I had to rename the img to update.img and edit the .ini on the SD card - have in mind guys.

About the Wi-fi speed... is a hit and miss(router, noise around), and not having a external antena dont help :/

Agree... That was a little disappointing to me, as the box was advertised with AC 5Ghz... but.. yep, can not make more than 24 mbit/sec, and it`s not enough to stream 40GB mkv from my NAS. I am using a TP-Link Archer C2 AC750, which is not also the best router, but my mobile phones are able to reach 50 mbit/sec download via Wi-Fi, guess they have better wi-fi chips... was thinking to buy an USB wi-fi antenna and hook it in the box... but I am not sure that drivers are arround so... let`s see, probably for streaming 40 gb+ mkv files - ETH is the best.

Or probably soldering an antenna to it?!

Well you can try to soldering a antenna because i get 200mbits over wifi but i have a ASUS AC1200+ and i have the box in the same room as the root(2m +/-)

Yep... the thing with the wi-fi speed is not good. I have an old router (WRT160n) that I configured and used as a repeater, but it is 2g only, cannot repeat/amplify the 5G damn... and 5g supposed to be better for hd vid.

I got 150 mbps link (from settings -> wi-fi -> my 5g network) but when testing, cant make more than 20 hehe but router is 7 metres away.
