Other difference is probably that I set "fixed" MAC adress on ethernet interface early on boot process by /etc/init.d script.

Please answer I`m extremely worried and i don`t know what to do
I`m terrified the hardware is the problem.
BTW:I`m using the original firmware
Thanks in advance

T-R42 Wifi dinaxe
Hello ...dinaxe
I never tested any thing until I load the NEW firmware From Lewy and Wasser...
I am Sorry ... So I can NOT tell You about the Stock Firmware ...
As I do NOT normally use Wifi ... I have been working on the NEW Firmware Roms so ... Everyone Had told me the two units were compatible but that is not the case ... There is a very big difference in Ethernet and Wifi / Bluetooth Chips in the T-r42 than in the K-R42
You Should Try some different Channels and Load the Free Wifi Analyzer from the Google Play Store... At least You would Know what the Real Signal Strength is ?
Lots of Times it is about the channel You have Your Router / Player set
to ... Check it out with the Wifi Analyzer ...
Bars really do NOT tell me any thing ... My K-R42 tests are -43 to -45 dBm
and My T-R42 test out at -40 to -42 dBm ... both on the same channel ...
My Tests are On Channel 1 ....
Most routers are set to Auto By default for the Channels Change and Try each channel to See which one works best for You ... I alway reboot My router after I change the channel ... Some times it is about Your Neighbors all being on the same channel and Washing out Your Wifi signal ...
Good Luck
Michael T.

But in Settings -> About Device it prints HFW 2.0.2. Which is impossible since I can use "Switch resolution".RK3288 2GB/16GB OC 1.9GHz at 1.2V RAM [email protected] Wasser's 3.0.11 firmware

To clarify what I think is the current position.
If I flash the new Wasser Kernel on a Lewy 2.04 ROM, that will work for both the K-R42 and T-R42?
Will this combination still allow the switch between 1080p kernel and 720p that was introduced in 2.03?

@PMbluesmanuk.
If you flash HFW v2.0.4 on both devices and then new wasser's kernel for T-R42 then you are set.
If you also want to switch resolutions then remember to place these new kernels into /system/preinstall and overwrite 720p.img and 1080p.img with adequate images. This is only necessary for T-R42 device.RK3288 2GB/16GB OC 1.9GHz at 1.2V RAM [email protected] Wasser's 3.0.11 firmware

I did the switch resolution thing after replaced with Wasser's two new kernels (1080p & 720p) into /system/preinstall and somehow the firmware version changed from 2.0.4 to 2.0.2. Anyone noticed this?
Thanks

But don't be cocky by changing it to for expample HFW 2.0.99.
i forgot to change it.Everything is possible if we work together!

Just got a k-r42 (MK888B) box and finally got it rooted. Does this firmware still only support non-bluetooth devices? Can anyone tell me if Hulu Plus is working with this firmware? Does the remote work with this firmware? Thanks! (My Device: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/MK888...331527250.html)
