You can flash this firmware combined with wassers latest kernel.

Or you can chose to flash this over Lewy's firmware: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...0-by-lewy20041

I don't know if I'm the best person to explain this as I'm also pretty new to these devices (Android phones is quite different from these devices to me).

I have that firmware by wasser so if i open the flashtool and where it says kernel point it to the new kernel instead of the one it has in there by default and then flash? one more daft question which button do i use i take it i dont need to wipe Nand. Is it possible just to flash the kernel over the stock FW. Im new to this aswell its different to phones.

    thanks for the help.

Make shure you've only ticked the box in front of the kernel and point it to the kernel file on your harddrive.
After that klick "Flash ROM" and you're flashing the kernel.
It will reboot after the flash and it will be ready for use.

How abouts if i want to flash the whole wasser rom with the updated kernel do i just change the kernel to the right one and leave all the other boxes ticked with the wasser FW and then do i just click flash or do i have to use the wipe nand before flashing. What are you using so i can make a good decision.

This will be the last question then i will be able to do it.

          I'm using Lewy's (2.0.4) rom, so I don't exactly know about wasser's rom.
If you want to be shure, then just flash the entire wasser rom and flash the kernel afterwards.

If you have any more questions, you should just ask. Everyone has to learn things one way or the other. Asking questions is a way better way than bricking your device.

I haven't done that as I think you're entire rom will be empty if the flashing goes wrong.
Don't know about it for shure, but I've never wiped the NAND.

For me, wasser's latest kernel works if I flash it using his flash tool in flash mode. When I flashed it using flash_image in a terminal, Ethernet continues to fail after rebooting. So try using his flash tool if you are not.

Thanks to everyone that has helped me with this issue.

                              Hi All

Sorry but I am a bit confused, I did flash MK808B in the past but I think it was already rooted,

I have a new k-r42 without the bluetooth and I do not undestand what needs to be done in order to flash with HFW 2.0.3 , my device is still with the firmware it came with ,
do I need to root it first ?
Can I just set it in Firmware update mode using the recovry button and flash it ?
Do I always need to reflash stock firmware before I install new version or if I want to switch form
                              2.0.4 to JustXBMC 1.1.1 for example ?

I know justXMBC it booting to XBMC but can you still go to some menu to start other apps ?

Is there an already made guide that covers these questions ?
                              Thanks for reading .

No need to root it first, just flash it in "flash mode". Sorry I don't have answer for your other questions.
