Lewy 2.0.3 is useless for my T428 since it keep rebooting after 1 or 2 minutes.

I unpack with RK29xxImageTools_v2.1 and flash using RKAndroidTool but same rebooting. I noticed when using batchtool bootversion was 1.20 but with RKandroidTool boot is 1.24. I will wait for other member to see if I am the only one with this reboot issue.

hi lewy20041, I tested the new ROM "T428_HFW_2.0.3_720p_1080p",

but I also have the same problem of random reboot.



tested with :

T428_HFW_2.0.3_720p_1080p + Original kernel

= random reboot.

I tested the new ROM for Minix neo X7 "Minix_x7_HFW_2.0.3_1080p" in the tronsmart T428,

the same problem of random reboot.

have to confirm reboots on t428 with quality 2a psu - not getting behind boot animation! v2.0.3 for k-r42 booted and was working besides wlan and stuff like this...

I noticed that the clock frequency is,


Max Clock: 1.8 GHz

min clock: 1.2 GHz


Is this normal?

2.0.3 problems

So far the problems that I experienced:

-random reboot every 5 minutes. I changed the performance back to 1.6 Ghz from 1.8 Ghz but same reboots happened
- camera does not work (c170) saying, "gallery has stopped"
- 1080p video choppy from sdcard, but if I restart my 2 years old Samsung Tv set the movie playback becomes smooth!!! So there is something with the HDMI output!
- wifi connects at only 19 Mbit/s instead of the standard 45 Mbit/s. I restarted the router but no luck.
- network performance poor due to wifi speeed

All in all it's a step back comparing to 1.2.1

For me the "kernel_20130902_101055_phja_t428" create problems with Tronsmart T428.

Only the kernel:

"kernel_t428_phja_20130802_vsf_ocl_720"

"kernel_t428_phja_20130802_vsf_ocl_1080"

works perfectly in Tronsmart T428 (for me).

with "kernel_t428_phja_20130802_vsf_ocl_720"

without switch resolution, thank you in advance.

Maybe the problem comes from "switch resolution" ?

Can't get mine past the opening animation, just constantly reboots. Device is cold so not an overheating problem.

Your device must be made of sterner stuff Lewy!

Hi lewis, I allowed myself to change your ROM "T428_HFW_2.0.3_720p_1080p" ,

to see if I could use only with "kernel_t428_phja_20130802_vsf_ocl_720".

Now the boot is correct, +/- 30 sec

Boot Recovery = OK

WIFI = OK

bluetooth = OK

LAN (RJ45) = OK

Score antutu in landscape = 20623 ( for me is a new record ), 4x1800 MHz in kernel 720

After 1 hours 30 Min of use the Tronsmart T428 :


no bug, no reboot, until now,... no break wifi


the Tronsmart T428 is not hot ( normal)

I have to say, I do not resolve problems , I have nothing optimize, just remove the switch resolution,

and put the "kernel_t428_phja_20130802_vsf_ocl_720", I'm not developer.

i have a question.
do anybody know if kernels i used have nfs support?
i activated nfs script at boot and i rememberd that it was cousing reboots some time ago for some devices.
if firmware im uploading still will get reboots i will know what need to be done.
