    Some initial findings:
    • My 1080p kernel build from 20130910 seems to work nicely with this ROM (AnTuTu score: 21430)
    • This ROM still requires a kernel with a vsync fix. I tried a version of my build with the 'vsfsam' fix omitted and all videos, even SD ones, stuttered horribly
    • CWM recovery works if installed the "Terminal way"
    • If I click the nav bar bottom-right, the placeholder for acknowledging all notifications contains just some bogus string data (like: %1$0,%1$1 etc.). Clicking it does not clear the notifications.
    • Browser doesn't open YouTube videos in the YouTube app. Even after resetting all app associations, clicking a YouTube video doesn't produce a popup for selecting the playback app.

BTW: phjanderson's kernels from 20130802 do include a fix for video stuttering. That fix was his own implementation which has since been superceded by Sam321's fix ('vsfsam').

BTW2: The recommended boot time settings for my kernel build are:
    • Max cpu: 1608MHz
    • Governor: ondemand
    • I/O Scheduler: noop

With these settings all videos, except perhaps the most extreme 1080p ones, play smoothly with h/w accelerated players (tested with the stock video player, MX Player and XBMC Gotham Alpha7).

Still can't get this damned modules to insert at boot.

I've added them to /system/lib/modules but they don't autoinsert there either.

Another thing of note is the UK broadcaster Channel4's ondemand app, 4OD, doesn't work. Other similar fails have been DRM and Flash related problems.

Thank's for precision, last time I didn't change config and my device was to hot for me. Indeed video is nearly perfect. I notice in MxPlayer HW+ we can use SW for the sound, maybe passtrough working?

hi Lewis, I tested the last ROM "T428_HFW_2.0.3_720p_1080p".

Now the boot is correct (3 sec) and bootanimation (25 sec)

            Boot Recovery = OK

            WIFI = OK

            bluetooth = OK

            LAN (RJ45) = OK

Score antutu in landscape = 20426, 4x1800 MHz in kernel 720

            --------------------------------------------------------

in Advanced\Switch Resolution, I do not understand, When I restart, only the boot is starting to 1080p

when I get on the desktop, it is 720p, Is this normal ?

            in antutu :

            ok in 720p ( 1280/678 )

            and Switch Resolution

            oK in 1080p ( 1920/1008 )

            --------------------------------------------------------

Video "Planet earth from pole to pole 1080p sample 1" in (SDcard ext) :

            Player natif = problem ( bizard )

MXPro, Bsplayer = OK ( Video stuttering, always a little, but for me, 720p is enough )

            ---

            video streaming ( youtube ) 1080p = the Video, no stuttering ( for me ), I use "YouTube.Floating.HD.Player.Pro.1.2.3b.apk".

VIDEO/AUDIO streaming (synchro) amo navi-x, ect = OK ( Video stuttering, always a little, but for me, 720p is enough )

XBMC takes too much resource, tronsmart is not powerful enough to play 1080p video, ( 720p is perfect for me).

            --------------------------------------------------------

After 50 minutes of use the Tronsmart T428 :

no reboot, until now,... no break wifi

the Tronsmart T428, is not hot ( normal).

            Thank for best ROM Lewis.

After update to 1.2.1, I can not access to NAND flash through USB.
Does anyone meet the same situation?

Could be but the initial recovery looked like the stock one, so I reflashed CWM just to be on the safe side.

Could you point me on how did you install CWM "the terminal way"?

I added the advanced settings.xml file with HW decoding set to always on and performance of Gotham alpha8 much improved - still stutters slightly at 1080p though.

Is there a way to get xbmc 13 pass through?
