Working

Don't know how to work out kernel resolution so it booted into one resoultion and I used the advanced app to switch to the other!

I downloaded the latest nightly XBMC and ran some 1080p30 videos on the initial resolution/kernel and it stuttered. I ran some 1080p24 ones and they stuttered and had sync problems. I will uninstall and put the july 14th libstagefright 12.2 build on and test again.

Other things I noted:

1 exFAT microSDXC was detected but reported as corrupt - I'll try to insmod the exFAT drivers from the Kernel Development forum again and report back

2 Bluetooth mouse was very erratic on first kernel but better after reboot to 'other' kernel

3 Input language/location is set as US (boo )

4 HDMI is still two channel only. When I selected Rockchip HDMI passthrough I got no sound.

5 In both kernels the video was set to 1080p60 HDMI output (not sure if this is an issue)

Tried with xbmc 12.2 libstagefright and got same results as with Gotham alpha8 nightly

Working!

It is working for nearly an hour and no reboot. I only test video and I have seen better but rom look great. I try the changing kernel 720 to 1080 and 1080 to 720 working great. Synch work. I have only one issue so far: Date not report in system bar, garbage caracter instead.
Network connect very fast (the best I have so far)
Bluetooth connection work, need to test my gamepad.
I will take time this morning to test further!

4. first kernel output upscaled 720p and second one real 1080p (you can use antutu to tell you what res you actualy using, by defult is upscaled 720p).

5.you will get sound if you play any video, game etc, passthrough dont work for android menu.

A tutu reports 1920*1008 display

MX player plays 1080p30 and 1080p24 videos perfectly.

With hdmi pass through on sound is working during video but still reported as stereo

Antutu 4.0 gave 19,818 at 1920x1008

Edit:

Mx player in HW mode and apps called video and video player pass through audio - woohoo! Video player seems the best of the three.

Mx player in HW mode is not as smooth playing video as HW+

XBMC doesn't seem to like this build at all.

Okay I've added the two exFAT libraries to /sdcard/exFAT and placed a script file called 49exfat in /etc/init.d which ins mods the libs

1. I can execute the file manually and it will insert the libraries without error. Dmesg reports all good. However this isn't run on boot?
2. With these libraries inserted I still can't click on the mount SDCard button as it appears to only try to mount as FAT.

Any ideas on either?

In MXplayer you should install personnal codec if you want to read DTS with HW+. I just mention this as a reminder, I can't test it myself. So do not take this as it is working, I don't know.

They already are

I'm reading about dev_mount & vold.fstab to try to understand the android way of mounting but I'm guessing I need these libs loaded at startup to be effective.

I believe i'm currently using the second one with 1.2.1 with no issues for the most part. no clue about nfs modules b/c it's not something i use.

i will try to test your latest upload tonight but it may take until tomorrow. thanks again for all your hard work!!!

Further, I looked at all permissions in that directory:

00CustomW and 49exfat both have -rwxr-xr-x
98CIFS & 99NFS have -rw-r--r--

I'm obviously barking up the wrong tree here

I've trying "mount -t exfat /dev/block/vold/179:1 /mnt/external_sd" but keep getting no such device even though I can see the directory structure for 179:1

I can't find the dev_mount binary to try the same command as that in vold.fstab

All rather confusing.

NB. DMESG has a lot of messages about insufficient privs for qtaguid: ctrl_countersets
