strange findings.... although not that bad...
installed new rom (v2.0.3) the first time .....ok, played a little with it and re-flashed it.
after the second flash (same rom), it had a couple of different apps installed... e.g. sound recorder (wasn't there the first time) even the initial wallpaper was different....??
it's not an actual problem just kinda strange....

hi Molle, I have tested your kernel "kernel_molle_20130910_t428_1080p_cpu1920h_ddr720_ gpu798h_cfgia_vsfsam",
in last ROM "T428 HFW 2.0.3 720p 1080p".
For me, there is always a random reboot.
antutu, does not work.
For video, there is no difference with the kernel "kernel_t428_phja_20130802_vsf", there is still the small problem of Video stuttering.
I am not criticizing your work kernel, because we are more to have the problem.
Did you add or remove something from the ROM "T428 HFW 2.0.3 720p 1080p", so that your kernel works ?
I think wholes kernels, "kernel_20130902_101055_phja_t428" does not work well with Tronsmart T428 (for me) is that I'm the only one?

Since this kernel was absolutely rock-solid with HFW 1.2.1, something must have changed in the ROM itself which does not agree with it.

Heat?

How can I decrease the frequencies of cpu and gpu and RAM?
Instead of getting higher benchmarks I would need reliability and features like mouse scroll.

Unfortunately there don't seem to be any apps which can be used to limit the GPU frequency.Last edited by Molle; 22 September 2013, 18:15.

Besides, with the current SDK1-based ROMS, playing HD videos takes a lot of power. Non-oc'd kernels just won't play them without stutter. We can only hope that future firmwares will include more optimisations towards video playback.
Also, please feel free to install your own kernel-building environment. I have mine under VMware in Windows 8. Phjanderson's guide for Marvin includes good installation instructions.Last edited by Molle; 22 September 2013, 18:16.

I have tested HDMI passthrough of DD5.1 soundtracks with the stock video player and MX Player and it works nicely. There is also a customised version of XBMC available which supports HDMI passthrough. The link to that can be found in message #482 to this thread.
