If I have already flashed the ROM and then I want to clean the box - that is start over fresh - what do I do in TWRP?

- First re-flash the ROM in TWRP and then subsequently which data option do you wipe?

What I am trying to do is create a clean box for someone and start fresh (basically like I was starting over removing all my applications to start with setup screens). I want to use TWRP to do this.

You want to select Wipe, Advanced Wipe and then select the Data and Internal Storage check boxes. (I'm going from memory here, so exact language may vary.) This should wipe the entire userdata partition, including the /sdcard area.

Does anyone know why meecool produces so many versions of its firmware for this single M8S Pro+ box?
Examples: the last one used by Magendanz is 20171128.111200.V0928 but he also used in the past the versions 20170919.150557.V0619, 20170815.182813.V0321, etc.
The box I received a week ago from Gearbest runs on the version 20171031.091923.V0619
Is it due to (very) frequent hardware changes?

WARNING: Do NOT buy this box from geekbuying german warehouse. I ordered 7 days ago, i just received the box delivered to the UK, it has the faulty SEC713 emmc chip on it, firmware version: 20170815.182813.V0321. I guess they haven't been selling many of these boxes from their german warehouse so they must have been sitting on the shelves for months.

trebor, i have not tested the box, i saw that it has a reset button so i opened the box and saw that it has the faulty emmc chip batch. I have attached a photo to this post showing the emmc chip codes and reset button.

Yes its normal, this model has no reset..common knowledge

But my question is it faulty as in it does not work, or have made an assumption I guess on previous information ?

Also mentioned it in the Geekbuying thread.

I was reading it was only faulty due to some missing files
Please advise the situation.

I ordered from geekbuying china warehouse. same box. Took about 2 weeks to arrive to UK. Mine has faulty Batch and reset button etc SEC 701. KLMAG1 JENB. Very frustrated as I thought Geekbuying had resolved their stock to the new versions with fixed emmc etc. I have not flashed any firmware updates because of what has been reported in this thread.

His model is early version WITH reset switch.
If it has 0829 FW as well as 713 then may well be faulty.
Need to confirm fully with observed freezes and/or brick after OEM FW update.zip applied (not 0829)

The missing files release was nothing to do with the bad batch just a release without files for SD card boot as I recall.

Since Geekbuying announced they replaced the whole batch, I wouldn't take any risks and ask for a full refund.

Hope you paid with Paypal so you can recover your cost to ship it back, because GB never gonna refund you those costs.

You may be lucky.
You can try an OEM update.zip to see if it bricks.
