I don't do 1 line, I do the whole identity. but think this one alone does it for 4k YouTube

Hi,
First of all thanks for great ROM.
I have a question: I need to change how my Beelink device identifies itself to my IPTV app - as a "Nexus q". I would like to switch from Nexus q to some tablet (e.g. Nexus 7 Flo) identifier. I think I may be able to do it by modifying build.prop. However I'm afraid that I break the device overall functionality by doing it (Affecting Kodi and all settings for device for example). Do you think it's safe to do it? Please if you know some app that can change device identifier for designated app let me know. Thanks for any reply.

Yes, you can safely edit the following properties to attempt to spoof another device:
ro.product.model=Nexus GT1
ro.product.brand=Amlogic
ro.product.name=q201
ro.product.device=GT1
ro.product.board=q201
ro.build.product=q201
ro.build.description=GT1-user 7.1.2 NHG47L 20171020 test-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=Amlogic/q201/q201:7.1.2/NHG47L/20171020:user/test-keys
Just keep in mind that you may also "fool" the OTA updater script and be unable to pass its environment checks. At that point, you'll need to restore the original build.prop, manually strip those checks or update via the burn package.

Yes, the advantage of using the Shiningworth firmware as base is that it supports multiple DRAM configs, wireless chipsets, and IR remotes natively. That's why I can publish one ROM when others have separate releases for AP6255 and QCA9377 flavors. I also have three IR remotes on my desk right now, and it works with all of them...even for cold power-up.
It's not perfect, but it's the best I've found for the GT1. I wish they had one like it for Amlogic p212 (S905X) reference boards.

I see that there is progress for this box ..
I think the various Kodi buses come from the base beelink .. But not 100% sure.
So
I will wait again for a possible installation ..
This vorke rom is more interesting than the stock beelink!
Very good job
Edit:
On the French forum, we do not speak of its manufacturers as Vorke, Tanix etc ....
but still the best known, which may be underperforming and poorly followed firmware side.Last edited by kole; 03 December 2017, 11:09.
