    Ahh, unlikely then.
I've tried your firmware and it is by far the best for this device but the lack of working wifi on my board revision gimps it.
Thank you for your contribution. Guys like you make these devices worth having. It's a shame the oems can't get their act together on the software side.

Im inclined to avoid these types of devices from now on.

Newbie here. Just purchased a H96 Max. It came with the following build "rk3399_box-userdebug 7.1.2 nhg47k eng.wisdom2.20171225.145125 test-keys". Just wondering if this "SCV1 Beta" firmware will work. I don't want to try without a copy of the stock firmware. Please point me into the right direction on where to find the stock firmware. Thanks for your help in advance. Here's a couple pics of the board and a screen shot of the build.

For some reason the menu button on my remote doesn't seem to do anything in this launcher. Pressing the menu button several times deleted some icons but never popped up a menu. It worked fine in the stock ROM.
Could just be compatibility with this remote or something I guess but can't find the original remote to compare at the moment.
Before I go trying another launcher just wondered if this is a normal issue?

Is there definitely no work around or potential fix for this? (

I had the same problem with my H96 PRO PLUS... when I moved it from my 4K TV to a 1080p PHILIPS TV.

One time I was able to make it work by Pulling out HDMI cable while "FORMAT NOT COMPATIBLE" message was on Screen, and then Plugged it back it.

It didn't work the next day.

The REAL solution came from Plugging it back into 4K TV and Going to DISPLAY in settings, and changing HDMI Resolution to 720p... and TURNING OFF "AUTO" in HDMI Resolution. (Sometimes these are both on SaME Screen).

Then I reboot while connected to 4K TV to check if it restarted in NEW settings of 720p. Once I confirmed this, then I moved it to 1080p TV and plugged it in and re-Started.

                  PERFECTION!

Turns out Box was trying to use 1080p REsolution when TV was actually 1080i Resolution.

So now I moved Resolution on Box to 1080i and it worked even after restarting Box! Hope that helps!

Edit: PS - Even 1080i Resolution setting only worked for a little while. Seems you have to ALSO turn off the ONE BUTTON ON/OFF setting as part of HDMI... DISPLAY (?) setting... and for SAFER results, change your resolution to 720p while box is connected to 4K TV (or whatever TV your BOX works on in your house).. and MAKE CERTAIN "AUTO RESOLUTION" is TURNED OFF.... Then and ONLY THEN... disconnect your BOX and move it to the TV that wouldn't accept your box before.

Get one on hand. I'm just wondering when there will be a Android TV version. The previous ROM on H96pro plus works perfectly fine, and I wish there is a ATV mode on h96 max as well.

it all depends of my time, i now have lots of roms to update + some new boxes to make a rom... i m8 leave some devices behind
From now on my roms will be simple so i cant make a update faster!

                    Hi
It could be great if we can learn what was updated in the new firwmare compared with the older one, i think the only person who can help to cook a new rom is superceleron
I prefer to hold the first release of his cooked rom even if some apps are not working fine, in example, Reboot...i try to switch off the android box and its rebooting...its not possible
to switch it off by sofware.
Another question is if it would be possible to overclock it, i was opening mine and i was setting a new disipator as the in house one is small ... Antutu now is 100.000 points !!! and
its only because not so warm inside anymore ....
I got one beelink gt1 extra only for kodi but this H96 Pro RK3399 its very powerful for emulators. I use it mainly to play with Retrox.
                    Greetings.

Just got a brand new box and met some major issues after flashing this Rom using factory tool via restore mode.
                      1. Wifi cannot turn-on. It is permanently disabled.
                      2. The sleep button leads the machine to be turned off, and cannot open it again. (unless you plug out/in). On the other hand, the power-off function leads the box to restart. The restart function leads the box to sleep (tested on both wireless mouse and the original remote control).
                      .....................
Maybe the factory changed its design on hardware?

                        Hi ,

are you sure your Box has the same Wifichip ??? I think it here is AP6255 ??? ,

best to flash back to Stock and first check the Specs before you try any Rom .

                        greetings / gefattern

                          Hello

You most likely have that other version of the H96 max that uses the QCA9377 Wifi chip set that is why you are having all of these
problems ... SC Firmware is for the AP6255 only ...

I have both units and Have the same problems ... So I can NOT use SC Firmware build ... On the new Box ...
As he has not release a firmware build for the QCA9377 Wifi chip set. Oh Well such is life.

Buyer beware ... not all box suppliers are equal ...

                          Good Luck

                          Michael T.

                              Hi
Thank you for your kind and patient explanation. I have returned this box, and from now on I only stick to boxes that is compatible with SC's firmware which is so great, either with a beautiful ATV UI or runs super-fast.
                              Kind Regards
