One thing that works for me, when I use that remote for another device and then go back to this device I have to remove the batteries and re-insert them. That works for me..... give it a try. Also, after I re-insert the batteries, I reboot my box, hold my remote a few inches from the box while depressing both the "OK" and "-" buttons until the box pairs, can take a few minutes.

I tried your method but not sure if the WiFi /Bluetooth module isn't transmitting the remote would pair, held it hard for 2 minutes straight nothing, "Bluetooth is initializing".. The few hours the box worked on shipped firmware before this mecool ota update, WiFi and bluetooth sliders showed disabled no matter what I tried ..

This is where all my problem come from, after resetting, the start up color symbol would just stay there, so after many hour of trying to load the nexus Rom from the recovery (hitting the menu button on start up) i resorted by loading it using the USB burning tool and shorting it, by using the paper clip method, but with no WiFi and no voice control but at least i had it working, but would like to go back to the original imagine.

What's this shorting thing .. I too am almost in the same boat as I want to load supermal image to go back on my new lb box
Edit: follow this video, but instead of having an accessable reset button, you will need to open your box, but the method is the same.
Here is a photo of where to short the pins...... post #183

They removed the accessible reset switch, so you have to open the box and short the two spots where the reset button is supposed to be. There is a picture floating around here someplace (I will look for it). You will need a male to male USB cable, and while shorting the "pin holes", plug in the USB cable into the OTG port on your box. Your computer will make a noise when it connects to the box.

Do I need to short the pins necessarily and open the box for any new image flashing? I too am almost in the same boat as I want to load supermal image to go back on my new lb box
will update when I try it later.
thanks for everyone help and hopefully people can read this and learn from it lol.
