Hi guys! I´m completely new to the world of Amlogic Boxes, and as I´m going to buy the Meecool M8S Pro L i wanted to know if Amazon Video and Netflix do work on this ROM. If so, does it run 4K und can it switch between SDR and HDR automatically? Last question: Is there a thing such as framerate switching for content below 60hz (23,97, 25, 30 etc)?

if amazon video works at all it will be sd only.netflix works up to 4k depending on your subscription.i think videostrong dropped support for framerate switching for some reason.

Ok, so this is a no-go for me.. I will continue using the LG WebOS Apps on my OLED, and the Meecool M8S Pro L for LibreElec and HEVC Streaming. Thank you for clarification!

Netflix is only HD (1080P), YouTube is 4k.

Thanks for persevering supermal, I dp suspect its a hardware\firmware combination issue somewhere in the pipeline but the exact place is proving illusive.

As for the things you mentioned I've been able to rule out a few. The only new component in my setup is the mecool box. I've had my avr setup outputting HD Audio via a couple of different computers connected to the avr over the years with HDMI 1.4 cables. Ruled out the cables being the culprit by swapping them out for HDMI 2.0 cables. I'll keep digging...

What is your speaker set up on your avr?if it is not configured for 7.1 it will default to 5.1 output.

Just for sh*ts and grins, connect your box directly to your TV and see what Kodi shows. The Audio settings should be the same, HD audio not available. Then, connect it to your AVR again on a different port (your AVR should have several HDMI ports), and see it Kodi finally shows the HD audio selection in you audio settings. For whatever reason, your box is not seeing a device that can decode the HD audio streams.

I thought 1080P would be FHD, while HD stands for 720P.

Its a 5.1 setup. Running the same kodi config on my Windows machine and the Mecool box to further debug. Only difference is the audio passthrough device so still leaning towards hardware support \ hdmi handshake issues

Attempted that numerous times and swapped in power cycles and other hdmi devices into the mix just to make sure it wasn't a memory flush issue. I'll look in EDID info when I get time after work.

One word of caution,, never remove or insert an HDMI cable while in use, in other words powered up.
