Can someone get me an urgent question?
I just got my M8S pro L, the only reason to buy it was this ATV rom
It is with the factory rom M8S PRO L-userdebug 7.1.1 NHG7L20171117.164057.V0958
Can I simply use the OTA UPDATE (ZIP file 531MB)?

Get the OTA file put in the pendriver and clear data and after flashr ??
or would you need to flash the .img file here before and then use the 531mb OTA in it?

Hi,

All is working good, but I have a problem when playing videos.

Before I was using a Raspberry Pi 2 to play my films, but with some films it wasn't very good cause to performance of the rpi, so I have bought this android box.


But now, for a film which is well working on rpi, there is little jerkys on the video with M8S (Kodi Krypton 17.6 player).

I have installed the same player on my computer for test and on the computer the film is also fluent.


What do you think about that ?

I am having m8s pro L with build 20170918.111557 v0619.
the device hangs after playing for half hour. the blue power light is on but display is blank and no sound.
The remote does not function at that time.
I power off and power on again and again it works for half an hour and same problem occurs.
Earlier this problem occurred on some days and rebooting once was needed. But now every half hour.
I use it mostly to watch youtube for 3 to 4 hour every evening.

should I update the firmware or is some other issue? Please advice

Try dual booting LibreELEC and see how that works for you. Were you using LibreELEC on your Pi??

Hi! The ROM is very very good... but sometimes all the hangs in waching movies or tv content with high bitrate is because of wifi. I know this isn't directly related to the software you build, but could you advise external antennas and connectors to boost wifi up? That would be great! Guest

Hi,

I have just wanted to flash but not working...

I have use the burn package with burn card maker, put the micro sd card in the box and reboot but the box reboot normally.

So I have open a terminal and type "reboot recovery", now I am in TWRP and I Wiped all.
After that I go in "Install" and select the image in the external sd card, i select "flash on recovery" and slide, but i have this message : "size of image is larger than target device"

How can I flash it now, cause I have no more an OS on it ?

One other thing... despite optional wifi external antennas connection (DIY), the 5ghz wifi signal isn't as good as 2.4ghz signal, no matter how close the router is... as attachament proves, directly from router, not as stated in android (433Mbps lol) ... now, is there a way we could "force" the wifi driver to connect to 2.4Ghz only? (while the 5Ghz isn't fixed)... i bet it would perform a lot better.... now, is it a driver issue or something else? thankx

The OTA firmware can be used from within TWRP, since you said you can access TWRP. Just copy the Zip file to a USB pen drive or microSD card and insert it into your box and use TWRP to install it.

You managed to wipe your system partition, so it can't do the necessary environment checks. At this point, i'd recommend flashing the burn package (.img file).
