Installed this rom and is the best.....
Only one question
I use Kodi among, other progs, and Kodi can not alter refresh rate of TV.
It is always 60hz.
I have enabled Kodi option to alter refresh rate but it does not work.

Anybody having the same issue?

Auto refresh is not working on mecool you need to use workaround like this kodi addon

Tried the plugin but playback was awful and after few seconds I had a blue screen and only sound

I've tried it and the screen goes black. My only solution for the problem of judder is to put the resolution 1080p 50hz

Hi Guys,

Anybody have a clue on a dead HDMI output??

First I tried to load the TV-Rom with a USB stick (this is my second unit and the first just went perfect) then I bricked it during the installation.

Then I used the Armlogic USB with a windows machine method to reinstalle firmware (used M8S_PRO_L-V0928_TVStock-2018 0109.img
Size: 1,000.34 MB) everything went fine after a few trials and errors and I ended up with "Load successful" thinking that I just rescued my little box.

Mind you that from the moment I bricked it there has been NO output on the HDMI but the blue LED has been steady when applying power.

Now after successful load i still get the blue LED and I can turn the unit OFF with the remote control, indicating the the software IS actually running but still - NO output..??
Just a constant message on the screen saying "HDMI no input" It DO flicker this message every 5 sec on 7 sec off, again indicating something is going on. (without the box attached the screen is just black.

How to get the HDMI output back???
Is there a "backdoor" into the unit? (like SSH via Putty)? If so I need a "how to" please..


Note: Just tried with the "M8S_PRO_L-V0928_Nano-20180109" - same result. no HDMI output?

Maybe try to put libreelec to sdcard and boot from sd to see if this will help

Check your cables, and try on a different TV, I have run into that problem several times, if the screen resolution is set to a frequency that your TV does not understand. Sometimes I tinker with the Display settings, and when it reboots, no HDMI output, then I take the box to a different TV and change the resolution on that TV.

Also try plugging your HDMI cable into ALL HDMI ports to see which one will work. I had this issue when I tried to switch from HDMI 2 to HDMI 1 and couldn't get any picture. When you get the picture on one of your HDMI ports, disable the adjusting display refresh rate in Android settings.

so i have this other box from one of our internet suppliers in south africa don't know who the manufacture is but it has nexus rom on with pre installed apps on, can i somehow use that same rom for my mecool

Have tried both a PC screen and televisions NO output, tried different cables besides the one already there (4 different cables in total) and there is nothing? no android icon, no cursor, no flickering, nothing? seems to me something got broken when I bricked it?

If no others have any good suggestions it goes in the bin :-(

Hi there I am from South Africa and we make use of few apps DSTV Now, Showmax and netflix, when i install the new nexus rom the Showmax and netflix app is on the store but not the DSTV Now, is there someone that can help me to get this on the rom and on the store so that when there is an update the app gets updated like the others.

Any help and advise would be appreciated.

This rom is rooted, that's why its not showing on your google play store. You have to install magisk manager and then go to the setting and use hide magisk manager to hide DSTV Now app from seeing the root, then it will show. That's what i did.
