I just used the local OTA install using the zip file.

Update fails, "can't install over newer package".
Looks like I'd have to flash the burn package with the entire img in order to roll back.

i am using latest firmware on my LB version box.no hd audio issues.on checking other threads there has been many onkyo avr owners who have had hd audio issues using kodi 17.some still have.some went back to jarvis to get hd working.could you somehow swap out your avr and see if same problem?or try mecool on someone elses avr?could be some android/onkyo compatibility issue.

At this stage I'm fairly certain it's a firmware/android/avr compatibility issue. Not sure if you saw my previous post above but it looks to be a compatibility problem with the new android audiotrack api introduced for surround sound in Marshmellow and Onkyo. Ever so slowly inching towards solutions...

Do you really want to roll back.it looks to me that old and new firmware is ok for passing through hd audio.but if you want to for ruling out then Magendanz did a firmware that once installed allowed you to roll back to previous ROMs you will find it in this thread I believe.page 12.

Are you able to go back to your Android, or is it bricked???

You will need the correct firmware for you box..... What model is you "L" box.. LQ or LB??

Glad you got it working again.your box is LQ version.custom ROMs that are available will work with this version.do not use firmware for LB boxes as you will loose wi-fi and blootooth.

What version of box do you have?look at the last two letters on the sticker underneath the box.
