Hello P.X I have not written here for some time, but I have not stopped thinking about how to improve the appearance of my box, a few days ago I found this fan with the heatsink. What do you think you think of that?

I have saved many more images but have to send to server before then I will not be able to post them all. It's a little hard work. Here some more.

I will leave a 2 cm space under the fan, so will use some footings.

The box has perforations at the sides, but not in the top lid.

What you think would have the most positive effect, let the fan suck hot air out of the box, or let it blow air inside?
          Best ??
Probably both about the same, but good if you can try both ways and report back with the results ....

But, youtube keeps freezing the box after a while .
Maybe try with lid off and fan blowing directly at SOC ?
See if still freezing when cooler ??

Nice little fan. How well does it work ?
Do you need holes in the lid of that box ?
              ???

I did not do the tests, as the dollar is high on my currency I'll have to let it pass, maybe some until it gets cheap. But this fan looks great, if you remove the heatsink and put with thermal paste will be able to dw close the box, the measurements are in the images. Although the hole made in the lid can not be undone, it can be useful for those who have not yet pierced the lid.

I just finished installing this 35x35x8mm fan/heatsink. I'm letting the heatsink compound cure, but I'll post results when it's up and running.

Yes, very nice. Looking forward to your results. How noisy/quiet at 5V ? Can you post a link for the combo ...

                        The 80x80x10 usb fans arrived.

I did some simple test with a Pro+ that has a 40x40x11 heat sink installed, by placing a fan right under the bottom, on 2 cm footings.

I didn't drill any holes or whatever in the base.

Running Stress CPU it would max out at 69°C. Suction gave a little better result as blowing.

Mind you i'm living in a tropical country. Without the fan it will reach 80°C within 10 minutes with Stress CPU.

In about a week i will test with a Vorke Z6 with a 76mm hole drilled in the base.

No need on Z6. Just drill bigger holes on the right side ( I used a 1/8 drill git ). Expand 12 holes. A fan on the side cools it enough.

                              Vorke with drilled holes.
                              Mecool with side fan.

But a side fan isn't aesthetic, while a fan underneath you almost don't notice.

I had 2 Vorke Z6 die already within less than a year
