You have to change the fingerprint in the build.prop. You have to EXACTLY copy the fingerprint of another device. This may make your device incompatible with any official updates, if any are ever available.

A safer way is to use an app called market helper (http://codekiem.com/2013/02/13/market-helper/).

Instead of changing your build.prop fingerprint, this app provides a list of devices to choose from, then everytime your device communicates with google play, it changes the fingerprint in the message that gets sent to google. This means it won't break compatibility with ROM updates.

There aren't many devices available to choose from, but there are a few good ones that make nearly all apps available.

Regarding BRICKED Next8HD8G Tablets

FYI guys...

I've figured out why some of the Next8HD8G tablets are bricked. There are two different versions, with completely different hardware. They have overlapping manufacture dates by at least two months and may be for sale side by side. In fact I know someone who bought two of them at the same time, with the same month of manufacture and got one of each version. The ROMs are completely incompatible with each other.

I've been testing the two models for over a week now. Soon, I'll be able to post details concerning how to identify the two versions via the stock build.prop entries, along with compatible ROMs for the bricked models.

You will also be getting CWM recovery at the same time, and unbrick kits with premade Magic SD card images to revive the bricked tablets.

That's just nice, I may have to borrow my sister's tablet again so I can see the build.prop inside her. That way if it bricks on her, I can hopefully fix it. Thanks again for all the hard work. And seriously, I may end up not getting another Nextbook because of EFUN's/Yifang's practices.

You can't really hold them to blame too muhc. This is a pretty common occurance in low wend Tablets. So bad in some cases that the company doesn;t even know the change has been made.

Thanks shaunmt great work and thank you for all of your help. Both tablets are working very smoothly even though they are running 2 different versions of software you were able to recognize that and made a solution for each one.

The only way to tell is to check the stock build.prop.

If you currently have a bricked Next8HD8G, you most likely flashed a NXM8000ND_WM ROM on a NXM8000NBD_WMN board, considering that I have not yet released any NXM8000NBD_WMN ROMs.

All of the current ROMs for the Next8HD8G are for NXM8000ND_WM boards.

I'll be releasing new stock ROMs for both boards within the next week or so, along with CWM and Unbrick Kits, depends on how long testing takes, considering I don't own one with a NXM8000NBD_WMN board.

The new ROMs will automatically back up your current bootloaders, build.prop, and dmesg output before installing, so as long as people do nandroid backups in CWM before installing, they'll have all the parts necessary to create a proper stock ROM and unbrick kit if they screw up and install the wrong ROM on a tablet that doesn't already have files available.
