OK apparently I was wrong. It appears the kyser root worked. Had to reboot a couple times maybe? Didn't take the first time? Don't know.

Now to start cleaning out and tweaking settings.

    Thanks again for the help.

It sounds like you either aren't using the modified recovery correctly or the files you are trying to flash are corrupted.

Redownload the modified recovery and the stock ROM.

Unzip the modified recovery and put the uImage_recovery file on your external SD card.

Add the unopened stock ROM zip file to your external SD card.

Insert the SD card, hold volume- and power to boot to recovery.

      Then flash the stock ROM.

You specifically told me to... And I really had no other choice, thanks to the boot loop.
EDIT: Hours later, I realized you were referring to my first attempt at rooting my Tablet. No, I definitely did not flash the Stock ROM. I was able to delete system apps via Clean Master.

My mistake, I forgot that you were bootlooping... I thought you were only trying to root. You DID need to flash a ROM to fix the bootloop.

Getting the other Next7P12-8G ROM versions for the different WiFi chips posted is next on my list after I get the rest of the Next8HD8G stuff posted (which I'm working on currently and hoping to post by this weekend).

I think some of the guys found a way to get the correct driver installed... read the forums...

I'm trying to finish updated stock based ROMs for the Next8HD8G models right now. Should be finished any day now.

CWM and updated stock based ROMs for the Next7P12-8G is still next on my list. I have an idea, that might be able to include both wifi drivers in a single ROM, so people don't have to guess which one they need anymore...

I've made some more progress on my CM10 source code, but it's still not ready for public tested and I'm focused on getting CWM and stock based ROMs to more devices at the moment.

Some of the guys around here are playing with CM10.1, CM10.2 and CM11 that was ported from Christian Troy's Ainol ELF2 ROMS to the Prestigio PMP5580C (which is identical to the Next8HD8G), but the compatibility patches for the PMP5580C don't seem to be working correctly. They are trying to sort out the problems. Again, read the forums...

Modified Recovery and Google Test Keys

ShaunMT, I hope you can help. I have been using your modified recovery. I verified I had the right one by flashing your Stock Rom. When I created an update zip, I used Zipsigner to sign it but I keep getting a
E-Signature Verification Failed. I tried Android Ultimate Toolbox but it doesn't give you an option on which keys to use. How do you sign a zip to work with your recovery?

                Thanks

It just needs to be signed with the standard google test keys, although I never got zipsigner to work. I don't think zipsigner does proper signatures.

Try the signing tools from the android SDK.

                    Android SDK

                    Is that what you use?
Also, I created a CWM Recovery using this website: http://builder.clockworkmod.com/ but it gives me a inputrecovery.img file. Do you know how to convert that to the uImage_Recovery file that the nextbook will recognize? Thanks?

as I recall the inputrecovery.img from the clockwork builder is a copy of the file you uploaded.

The clockwork builder won't work for our tablets, because it doesn't know how to take apart our non-standard image format and it only makes standard android images.

The only way I know of to make images for our tablets is to manually take them apart and put them back together. If you want to learn how, read through the ainol development forums at slatedroid.

                        Thank You!

I'm new to this. Just downloaded SDK and installing. I will look at Slatedroid. But why Ainol?

Because Ainol has a whole series of Amlogic based tablets with more community development than any other brand.

That's where I learned a lot of what I know... the rest I had to figure out on my own.

I have. Is the pk8 and pem testkey.pk8 and testkey.x509.pem? I found those online but I am not finding it in the Android SDK.

Should I start a seperate thread?

I have used these test keys. The recovery kicks back my update with an E-Signature Verification Fail. I am currently re-downloading the entire Android SDK to make sure everything is working right. Should I start a separate thread in order to not tie up this one?
