The modified recovery worked right? You downloaded the recovery, unzipped it, placed the uImage_recovery file on the top level of your external SD card and booted by holding power and volume, correct?

When the ROM download finishes, do NOT open or unzip the ROM. Just put it on your external SD card, reboot to recovery and attempt to flash it.

Format the SD Card to fat or fat32. I use fat32. Then copy the files directly onto the SD Card. so say your sd card is now f: so when exploring the sd cad with the files I should look like this

3E unzip to root of SD card leave the recovery and root zipped on the sd card

F:\uImage_Recovery
F:\Kyser_Root_signed.zip

After that reboot the tablet with the sd card already in it into safe mode. Now you are running the modded recovery.

Regarding WIFI Issues on the Next7P12-8G

The only complete ROM I currently have for the Next7P12-8G is dated 10-23-13. This is the build the stock ROM I have already released is based on.

For you guys that are having WIFI problems. You need to provide the serial number from the sticker on the back of your tablet or from the box so we can determine when it was manufactured. Then we'll need to find someone with an original ROM that can provide a ROM dump.

Im new to this forum, but have been rooting and flashing custom roms for years. I have two of this tablets, one with untouched stock rom and rooted and one with rooted and the stock rom that is posted in this forum. I flashed it and I am also having the Wifi issue. So I thought I could do a rom dump on the untouched tablet and just flash it to the other one without wifi and be alright. Well I did the rom dump successfully, got the .img files and .tar files, but what do I do with them. I know to Zip them but in what order? I could post the stock rom I get with that for other people.

I want to thank you Shaunmt for your Android and Rom Development.

Anywhere you'd like to upload it and provide a link is fine.

A shared folder in Dropbox or Google Drive is a fast and easy way to do it.

Can you please verify that you have all of the following:

system.ubifs.tar
bootloader.img
boot.img
recovery.img
logo.img
aml_logo.img

Ill see what I can do. Ill try and get it posted before midday... I do have what you have listed. I followed the rom dump instructions posted on this site somewhere. I did it about two weeks ago thinking I could do it, but I didnt know what to do with the .tar files.

Cool. Just zip it all up, upload it somewhere, and send me a link.

I'll add the install stuff, sign it, find someone to test it, and then get it posted.

I would LOVE a copy of the July ROM.

There is a thread here in the Amlogic Nextbook subforum about how to dump the ROM.

Please note that currently, you have to use both Online Nandroid Backup and Terminal to get all the parts in the correct formats.

In the end, I need the following files:

system.ubifs.tar
bootloader.img
boot.img
recovery.img
logo.img
aml_logo.img

Online nandroid backup will dump all of them correctly, except for the bootloader. You have to use the dd command in the terminal to get the bootloader. The dd command does not work for the system.ubifs.tar.

When you have all the files in the right format, just zip them up, upload them somewhere and send me a message with the link.
