Amlogic Next7P12-8G Modified Recovery - Stock Rom & Flashable Root

Just wanted to confirm installing SU and the modified recovery works flawlessly on my Next7P12-8G, serial YFG06132615587. Question, I noticed my stock ROM is 4.0.4. Is this the same version as the stock ROM you provided in the OP?

Also, is there anything I can provide you for a custom ROM or kernel? This thing is pretty slow and I would love to speed it up a bit with a new kernel. I can only provide donations or beta testing though. Haven't had the time to learn cooking yet.

Well, I can't overclock it without a custom kernel, and that isn't going to happen anytime soon because the full source code isn't available. I might be able to patch something together by porting code from other devices, but it isn't a priority right now.

When I do start working on the custom ROM for this device, I'll see if I can least get it upgraded to 4.1. That should run a little smoother.

So after months of looking for a root method for my Nextbook 7, i came to find out today mine was Amlogic, and i flashed it and rooted it thanks to shaunmt, in a mere 2 minutes! Thank you so much man!

Have you tried Cydia Impactor?

I'm not sure, but the NX008HI8G looks like a NX008HD8G, but with higher resolution and possibly no HDMI out?

Ok just how do I get into recovery on this thing???? It is NX007HD8G. I have tried holding power and both volume buttons. Power and the right volume and power and the left volume....I cannot get it into any recovery what so ever!!! I just want to root this poor thing!

WIFI Not Working after ROM update!!!!

I am able to successfully update the ROM provided, put after after update everything works except WIFI, any help on this please.

Problems with WiFi or SD cards, are usually due to a bad flash.

Try wiping cache. If that doesn't fix it, try it again.

If that doesn't work, try wiping data. If that doesn't work, try it again.

If that doesn't work, flash it again.

Yes it is Next7P12-8G, I tried the above, even I tried to reflash again using a formatted SD card but the issued remains the same (WIFI is not getting enabled).
ANy help is much appreciated

Myself and others have had similar issues with WiFi after flashing on other models. For myself, it took several tries to get it working again. I suspect I may have some bad NAND blocks on my tablet.

Try reformatting your SD card, redownloading the ROM, wipe cache and data (twice), then reflash again.
