This is always a very frustrating issue to resolve. It is rarely resolved on the first or second try at wiping or reflashing.

The flash always appears to be successful, without any error messages.

Sometimes the only thing that works for me (and has also been the answer for some others) is downloading a new copy of the ROM file and reformatting the external SD card before placing the files on it.

I think sometimes the problem is related to a ROM file that was corrupted either during download or during transfer to the SD card. Other times, it is caused by bad blocks in the internal NAND, which just don't get written accurately.

In either case, the only solution is to try again until it works correctly.

        Root is not required.

However, I also noticed that it doesn't work on all apps. Have you tried different apps?

I've tried all of them. No one moves. And all downloads from Google store goes to apps memory and fill it quickly.

The external SD's are all FAT32 /from samsung/nokia/Sony devices/.I'm using many devices and all SD's works fine. By the way I'm in computer buisness since 1985 and well involved in MS platform. But not familiar with Linux.

Just rooted the Netbook with Your "Kyser" root. "Bites" fine! No problems. All's ok. Titanium also installed and root acces is ok by now.

              Tks a lot again

PS: Just tried "apps2d" and Titanium - but no apps move again. It must be a bug or a manufacturer restriction.

Have you tried moving them through apps under settings instead of through titanium backup?

Probably... but you are going to need a specially formatted rescue sd card...

Either Google how to make an am logic boot able rescue sd card to unbrick or wait for my unbrick kit which is coming soon...

Sure I have. Same result. But this morning I found a post by PSLover14 on 12/29/2013 here:

"A rom that runs on the Nextbook 7 AMLogic single core 4.1.1 device serial YF091305943 that allows me to install apps to external storage, as that is a bug, and I'm having to pull apart apps on my pc and edit their AndroidManifest.xml to say install to storage, and sign them as me..."

So sure is a bug. Any Idea how ca I settle this pls? Should be some shitty command line somewhere.

                      Rgds

I took a look at the build.prop, but that doesn't seem to be it... beyond that I have no idea... it may be something compiled into the ROM from source code.

                          1. Download the modified recovery .zip file.
                          2. Unzip the recovery file.
                          3. Put the "uImage_recovery" file from the recovery .zip on your external SD Card.
                          4. Download the root .zip file. (Do NOT Unzip)
                          5. place the root .zip file on your external SD Card.
                          6. Turn off tablet, put SD Card in (if not already in)
                          7. Hold Volume and Power. (Tablet will boot into the modified recovery it finds on the SD card)
                          8. Choose install from EXT. (Volume keys to navigate list, Power button to select.)
                          9. Choose the root .zip file.
                          10. Wait for finish.
                          11. Reboot.
                          12. Download your choice of Supersu or Superuser from the Play Store.

Note: There is NO need to flash the ROM if you just want ROOT. The ROM is only needed by people who have screwed up their firmware.

Thanks so much ShaunMT- I had trouble getting this to work...but once I followed the instructions exactly as they are (yeah, my bad), it worked great!

I was messing up on step #4; I unzipped the file but didn't remove it from the folder- that IS A MUST. The Uimage recovery file must be taken out of the folder and put on the SD card by itself, in addition to the unzipped root file. I'm a noob, so I guess that explains it. Anyways, thanks for the root- it works great!

                            *****EDIT*****

                            Well, ok, here;s what happened:

                            1. Rooted as per above- no problem.
                            2. Downloaded Rom Toolbox from Google Play, didn't work. Cleared cache in recovery mode and rebooted, then was able to download.
                            3. After installing Rom Toolbox, selected the Appd2SD option contained therein, in order to save data to SD card instead of internal memory (the whole point of this venture anyway).
                            4. It worked. At least least it does sometimes. If you're at all familiar with ROM Toolbox, or any of the rooted apps on the Play Store, you know that they all check for root access upon start up. Again, no problem there, as the app detected my Next7P12-8G was in fact rooted, and thus gave me the option to save to the SD card (when I went into the App2SD menu as noted above).

So, my question now isL has anyone else had this issue with Google Play? Although me device is now set to save to SD as default, it only works sometimes, and at other times, I get error messages telling me that I don't have enough storage space and/or error code 919...

                              1. Apps 2 SD functionality has been built into Android for awhile... it doesn't require a separate app or mod anymore... apps automatically go to SD when data is full or can be moved manually in settings...

                              2. When a device has both internal and external SD cards, it only works for the internal SD card.

                              3. It only works on some apps.

Yeah, I know that function has been built in for a bit, but the deal is...these tablets don't seem to realize that. When I install an app it gives me the option to move to the SD card, but that doesn't work. I tried it on all three of my kids' next7P12-8Gs. Doesn't work. So, after getting fed up, I decided to go for the root, hoping to bypass whatever crap bug in nextbook's software which was preventing me from utilizing this feature (perhaps due to an "incompatable" SD card?)...
