Rom dump packaging
Whats the procedure for packaging a rom dump? Is that something a lightly experienced developer could try? Is there any command prompt that needs done. The most commanding I have done is doing th DD for the rom dump. Not much there. Are there any threds on packagin rom dumps?... Sorry for the all the questions. "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for life."

Not to many good tutorials on creating update.zips from rom dumps.
The good news is that what I'm learning will apply to other tablet models also. I'm now confident that I can fix ANY bricked Amlogic M3/M6/MX tablet (assuming a ROM is available). I hope to finish this up with the Next8HD8G this weekend, and then the Next7P12-8G WIFI issue and CWM for it are next on my list.

Nextbook Amlogic Tablets
Hello Again! ShaunMT
I have the following Nextbook Amlogic Tablets:
Nextbook Model: Next7P12-8G
Serial/Manufacture Date: YFG0713xxxxxx
Current ROM: Original Stock Rom
ROM build date (From build.prop):Tue June 18 14:31:16 CST 2013
Rooted?: Yes, with your method
Ever Flashed This Device Before?: No
Any Current Issues With Your Tablet/ROM?: None, except with battery
indicator sometimes always reads 100% so I used a battery calibration
app and followed instructions and seems to correct this. Also, short
battery life between charging.
Nextbook Model: NX008HD8G
Serial/Manufacture Date:YFG0713xxxxxx
Current ROM:Original Stock Rom
ROM build date (From build.prop): Mon Jul 1 17:41:00 CST 2013
Rooted?:Yes, with your method
Ever Flashed This Device Before?: No
Any Current Issues With Your Tablet/ROM?: None, except with battery
indicator sometimes always reads 100% so I used a battery calibration
app and followed instructions and seems to correct this. Also, short
battery life between charging.
I have the rom dumps for the both of these models.
I would be willing to test for you if I had a known
working stock rom to fall back to. However the stock roms
you have released seem to have problems for the newer build
dates such as the models that I have.
I have also read that you are working on revisions of the stock
rom with the newer build dates. I will wait until the revisions
are available and are stable. If they work well, I will sign up
as a tester for you.
I would package my rom dumps into a update.zip, but I am
not comfortable enough with the process and risk bricking these
tablets. I was waiting to see if Nextbook would release rom
updates, but have not.
Thanks again! For all of your great work!

Booting uboot from SD boot sector?

Are you able to load uboot from the boot sector of the SD card on the M3/M6/MX tablets?

Not yet. When I get started on this one, I'll contact you, as I will need someone to test and I think you may be the only person who has asked about this model so far.

Claiming 8g storage and filling it with 7.5g of unusable, unremovable garbage is ridiculous.

Possible solution
Shaun has been understandably busy and in the meantime someone else posted another rom for the the 7p12-8g. It worked for mine, wifi is fixed I have root (using Shaun's root) and I have link2sd putting all my apps on the sd card. My only wish is that I could adjust the system partition size but I can wait for that. Here is the link.
