EDIT: I just found a firmware that actually works with the CS918B device at https://disk.yandex.com/public/?hash...k1oPUvsNL7Y%3D . Thank goodness!
Hi all. I recently got one of these devices and it does not have any serial number on it. The bottom of the device says "Model CS918B." I have tried a bunch of firmware's that are flashable with "RKBatchTool." The device flashed successfully on all of them, but none of them actually worked. I would get either a loading screen that would last indefinitely or I would get into the android main menu after a long wait and then I couldn't navigate anything as the device would instantly lock up. I have tried the suggested .img file for "CS918B" that was suggested earlier in this thread, but that also did not work on my device, as it just gets stuck at the "ANDROID" screen.
I was hoping that maybe I could give the wasser firmware a try but I cannot seem to be able to flash my device with RKAndroidTool. I just get a failure error when it gets to the second device testing part.
INFO: Start to run
INFO: Start to test device
INFO: Test device OK
INFO: Start to download IDB
INFO: Download IDB OK
INFO: Start to reset device
INFO: Reset device OK
INFO: Start to test device
ERROR: Test device failed
ERROR: Run failed
I have no idea why it would be failing when RKBatchTool seemed to work fine. I'm really starting to regret buying this device. I have a "Bluetimes" android box that the seller gladly gave me a link to root the device that took all of maybe two minutes, which is all that I need. I only want a working, rooted Android box so I can install the nightly builds of XBMC with hardware acceleration like on my Bluetimes box.
Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks.Last edited by Blas; 22 February 2014, 13:24.

Problems video streaming in LAN
Hi,
If I stream movies from my Synology NAS through my 1GBit LAN, I have in the most movies (1080p) after each 22sec always a 3sec break. If I play the same movies from a usb stick, it runs without any problems.
I have T-R42 V2 and Wasser V1.2.4, with KiKat-4.4.2 for T-R42 I detect the same problem.
If I stream the movie with my popcorn player or with my laptop I have no problem.
Did someone have an idea what is the reason and how I can fix it?
thanks

which T-R42 version i have?
Hello,
i would like to know which version of T-R42 is my tv box
this is the snapshot of my tv box:
I see B351 V1.1
So it is V1?
Referring to this firmware:
which files i have to select for the update?
And about the RKTool:
i see there are three tabs:
one tab is Flash
one tab is Nfs
one tab is Ram
which tab i have to select to do the update?
My device had the well known power adapter problem,
now i fixed it, the power adapter now works but the HDMI output gives me no signal
I tried to flash (from flash tab) the
kernel-720p-t-r42-old.img
and all other related software (loader, parameter, misc, boot, recovery, system)
when i click RUN the process starts , download and at the end says RUN OK,
but still i have no HDMI output signal
By the way,
after doing the flashing,
my pc asks for other driver for the device:
'rxda' device... why?
what does this mean?
Thanks!Last edited by vicolodo; 27 February 2014, 13:55.

Originally posted by buhohitr View PostAlso pretty simple but required a bit more work. When you unzip Wasser rom you will have a folder called "rockdev" and another folder called the RKDevelopTool_v1.37 (tool is in this folder). Open up RDDevelopTool_v1.37 and double clicks on RKAndroidTool.exe, this will launch the tool interface.
1)First line - At the end of the line, click on the empty box under neath the "..." tab, this will allow you to browse to the correct file which is the "RK3188Loader(L)_V1.24.bin inside of the "rockdev" folder.
2)Second line - Click on the empty box at the end of the second line and browse to "parameter file which is also inside of the "rockdev" folder.
3) The third line and the rest, just look at the name of the file (kernel, boot, recovery, system, backup), they all corresponded to the file name and they all located inside of the "image" folder. Just beware that for the kernel and the boot file you need to pick the right one for your device version (v1, v2 ...). For the original version T-R42, you should pick kernel file with the word old and use either boot.img or 720 or 1080. Any other version of T-R42 use either 720 or 1080 file with the word "new".
Here is the example:
Original T-R42 and would like to use 720P kernel:
Kernel=kernel-720p-t-r42-old.img
Boot image=boot-720p.img
For anything newer than the original of T-R42 and would like to use 1080p kernel:
Kernel= kernel-1080p-t-r42-new.img
Boot image= boot-1080p.img
Hope this clear up all your wondering....
i have the T-R42 V1.1
So i have to choose OLD or NEW version?
I have no HDMI signal... any suggestion?
Thanks!

Hi Mr. wasser thank you very much for you work. I just recived my device yesterday t-r42 with the 2.0 board, right out of the box the wifi was messed up, sporadically dropping signal. I flashed your 1.2.4 ROM with the 720p-ut kernel and 720p boot, wifi is ok but Bluetooth keeps switching off immediately. Should I flash the 1080 kernel and boot? Whats the difference?
