There is small guide about boards differences: http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php.../#.UxV2_YVEWI8

Do you can make custom firmware for PCB modifications:

    RK3188_BOX_SZY_X6 (CS918B) and XT-Q7-V01 (Q7)?

    Thank you for your work!

Beyond xbmc 3.3 works fine with my firmware. Please search in forum!

First of all, thank you for your great work of firmware development.
My Device is a T-R42 V1.0 and I received it 4 months ago.
I use the version 1.2.4 and kernel old t-42 without problems.
I decided to try your latest version 1.2.5 with kernel t-42 and 1.25 old boot 1080p.
I have these problems and they reported him.
          I turn on the device
And turns off and on in a loop and does not leave that state.

          Thank you

          Horacio
Same with my T-R42 V1.0 and 720P and 1080P 1.2.5 Kernel old and Boot.
The starting animation starts, non reproducably stops somewhere or sometimes
even before showing the first frame.
@Wasser --> Anything I can help with to solve this ?

            Hello,

            i need an update.zip or an update.img of stock firmware for T-R42 B351 V1.0 or V1.1
to be put into the external sd card to recover the system

I have recovery version 4.2.01, that prompts for this options:

update from external storage: needs update.zip

update rkimage from external storage: needs update.img

I have no other options because my pc is no more able to recognize my T-R42 B351 V1.1

Where can i found such files?

            Thanks

So you need pc to flash the firmware.
                  Hello,
                  thanks,
but do you think that it is possible to update the device using the
update rkimage option from my currenty recovery ? (Version 4.2.01)

i tried putting a custom rom img file in the sd card,
                  and named it 'update.img'

when i choose the option i get the message 'rkimage not valid'

Do you think that using 'stock' rom images (from geekbuying) i can do the update in this way?
(my device is bricked, no way to access it from pc)

                  Thanks!!

                    Success Wasser!

I have no BT though. Icon switches on then off instantly. WiFi Ethernet all good though.

Real Cinema 24p works! You the man

it's my intension to remove the hack for setting static mac adress in 1.2.5 release. I finally found a solution for this issue.

You need a tool to flash your static mac adress. I will upload the tool soon.

                      Hi Wasser,
Here are some follow-ups for the miracast and DLNA under v1.2.5.

The performance of DLNA(by BubbleUPnP) is perfect. The 1080p videos in my mobile(G pro) could be shown smoothly on T-R42.

However, when I tried by miracast, the result was much worse compared with DLNA. My mobile could successfully miracast with T-R42, but when I tried to play mobile’s videos on T-R42, they were blurred and twisted, and could not be played smoothly. Could it be improved? Or, just simply that the hardware of T-42 is not good enough for miracast? Thanks, and sorry for bothering.

                        OC Kernels

Will anyone be willing to make some overclocked 1080p kernels for the T-R42 new. I had a look at the rkpatchomatic tool and it's well behond my knoweldge. Would be great if possible.

                        Thanks

Ditto. I would love this. I spent a lot of time adding cooling to my box, but I can only run it at the low speed. All I want, is a kernel that lets me set the max CPU speed myself in either the performance options or using SetCPU or similar. I don't want one that has a set CPU speed. I want to be able to play with it myself and find the best combination I can. Is there any easy way to enable this with a compiled kernel? Or a guide to setting this and building the kernel and building it myself? I'd be happy to share it on here once I'd made it!

                          Thanks very much.

I tried using the rkpatchomatic tool on the old 720p kernel, but it must be in a different format to the one the tool was expecting as it brought up the errors below:-
                          Code:
                          Reading kernel imageDone!

                          Searching volt/frequency tables

I'm in the same situation. This firmware has bricked my device and I can only get into recovery. I can't connect it via USB to the computer whatever I try. I've tried two different stock .img files and a modded .img file. The recovery detects and checks the files, but won't recognise them.

My v1.0 device had no issues when I flashed 1.2.2 and 1.2.4 in exactly the same way as I flashed this firmware. There is a problem with Wasser firmware v1.2.5. AVOID IT UNTIL THIS IS FIXED!!!

I have found out that I can connect to the PC with ADB when I go into ASB USB Sideload option in recovery. ADB devices command on the PC will list it, but I just cannot get the rkbatchtool to detect it after 1.2.5 messed up my device.

Also, when I choose to apply an update from external SD card, it lets me browse the card with no issues, but when I tried creating a zip file called update with the img files in it all named after the partitions, it just refused to update it. Anyone have any ideas?

You could try to short pins 8, 9 to enter mask mode?
