I got mine last week

the 1.2.5 seems to work ok for me with old kernel but ethernet and remote controller not working same as in 1.2.4, any solution please help...

Hello,
finally i found the tool that signs correctly all the zips i create
and also the tool that helps to create the zip and the updater script, putting in it all the stuff i want (kernel.img, boot.img, and so on) to make a complete zip to be flashed via recovery menu from SD card, without the need of connection with pc, rkbatchtool, rkandroidtool and so on

My device find the zips created with these tools valid, so i can do any update i want
I already tried a simple updater scripts that only prints some informations on the screen with ui_print

Now i have only to learn the sintax of the updater script language, and to build the zip with all parts i need to recover my system...

with a tool i extracted boot,kernel,system, misc img components from whole stock img
then i have written the updater script,
built the zip,
signed it

moved it into sdcard,
and loaded from recovery menu

Voilà, my t-r42 is alive again!

Sound troubles

Hi, install your new version (1.25) in a T-R42 V2 is the best I've had, all goes well until I realized that the sound when playing videos choppy, I tried several players and feel the same, I have tried all the sound options and not get it to work ok. someone comes up with something, other firmwares this aspect worked well.

could you please download the new libmedia.so from the download url and copy it to /system/lib/libmedia.so, then reboot.

Please try to test again if the sound issue is fixed?

Un-Root Firmware ( bit off-topic)

Does anybody have a solution how to (temporarily?) unroot Wassers Firmware?
I am having problems starting a VoD Service (Maxdome).
Typical Apps such as Voodoo OTA RootKeeper don't work.

So I am one of the many people with a v1.0 board who has had their TV box killed by the 1.2.5 rom. I am disappointed Wasser has not responded to help all the people who this has happened to or even updated his original post to tell others not to flash 1.2.5 to the older boards!

I tried using this tool to build an update.zip from wasser 1.2.4 to flash from recovery, but it always failed. Vicolo which tool and files did you build yours from?

I kept trying to get the PC to detect it instead and eventually it did. This is what I did:-

1. Plugged T-R42 into the power
2. Plugged the T-R42 into the PC using the USB cable
3. The T-R42 powered on automatically when the cable was plugged into the PC
4. Waited for the PC to detect the T-R42 as an adb device
5. waited a bit more
6. Pressed the recovery button on the bottom of the T-R42
7. Waited for 2 seconds and pressed the recovery button again
8. It disappeared from the PC and then reappeared as rockusb device
9. I waited a bit more
10. Then I loaded the RKAndroidTool that was provided with Wasser 1.2.4 and it detected the device
11. I checked that each of the files the tool linked to were in the places it thought they were
12. I clicked the run button
13. When it was finished I removed it from the PC
14. Plugged into TV to test it works ok
15. It works!
16. Flash the modded stock rom from here
17. Check it works with the TV
18. It works and boots much faster than the wasser rom!

If you still can't get the device to be recognised by windows, here is an alternative way that also works:-

1. unplug everything
2. hold down the recovery button and don't let go
3. plug in the power
4. plug the T-R42 into the computer using a short and high quality micro-USB cable (I like the Nokia ones)
5. wait 10 seconds
6. release the recovery button
7. It should now show up in device manager as rockusb device

my t-r42 now is alive but wifi still not works...
instead works bluetooth but i dont need it
and i am not able to set static ip on ethernet settings (i use static ip on my network)
i cant save them...i dont find the save button
so i have no way to connect my device to internet... perhaps i will try with an external usb wifi adapter...

about the micro usb port...
i have the sensation that it does not work more...
i tried to connect a usb pen drive to it (with a micro-usb - usb adapter), and my device didn't see it... instead connecting the pen drive directly to the other usb port, my device detected it...

do you know if does exist an apk that shows the status of all usb ports of a device?

I`m not for that people who try you to angry - I`m very grateful for your work. Now I install firmware 1.2.5 and have problem with wifi when i use new kernel and not working at all for old kernel. Last I use firmware 1.2.4 and kernel-t_r42 cpu1704_ddr720_1080p_gpu600h. I tride to use that kernel in this firmware but not works too. Can you help me?

That is your prerogative.

I was just stating my disappointment that even after it was obvious that it didn't work for some boards, you didn't tell others not to flash it. Every ROM that everyone ever posts always includes a "generic Be aware: it is your own risk!" warning. People who flash ROMs no longer take any notice of them.

Wasser musn`t work with firmware for us, but he want to help us and do it. If you are disappointment tell this that person who sold you original player without all of this upgrades that was make by wasser.

And what you do that your player is killed - I have a two situation that i was think it`s killed but when i try to find way to repair I always find it.

Sorry for my english, but I don`t use it for long time.
