It's called DRM. Google that if you don't know what DRM means.

006 release was a bastard child of 4.2.2 JellyBean. What I mean by that is it was a early adoption of Jellybean but had a lot of old 4.0 ICS stuff. This includes DRM and HDMI detection. Releases after 006 complied to the full Google JB release. This busted many APPS and things your complaining about. It's not all Minix here but in fact RockChip complying with Google standards for 4.2.2 in their SDK.

In the end your barking up the wrong tree... Go tell those APP makers about the problem and get them to fix this.

I KNOW you might say... "It works on my phone or my tablet" but they are not HDMI enabled and comply with DRM. So this problem will be around forever from a ROM / OS perspective! It's up to the makers of the APP to solve this issue.

Ah, ok. Thanks so much for the answer on that. There are several people complaining on the same issue on the minix forum board but no one has figured it out yet.

    Thanks again, much appreciated.

You can't rush Art. Let him take his time. I'm still breaking in 1.8

          USB

I tried the USB powered hub, did not help

          Both on
          - Logitech K520
          - Meld F10 Pro

Random shutdowns. How do I remove the A2 air mouse driver?

My A2 airmouse works fine but battery drainer - for A2 airmouse standard should be 'remote mode' not air mouse. Big battery saver.

Bob, I've been testing the drm crash issue a bit more and wanted to cover this with you again. I flashed the stock 006 rom from minix, and set Settings\Screen\HDMI mode to either 1080x60hz or 720x60hz, and no problem playing streaming shows with the CBS app as an example. When I then flash your 1.6 finless rom, which I believe is based on 006, using stock kernel and stock rom, and set Screen to 720x60hz or 1080x60, I also get the same exact crash problem at the same exact time as when I was on 008 stock from minix per my prior post. As soon as I try and stream a cbs show, it starts spinning to buffer, and then about 5 -10 seconds into the buffering (no video yet), it crashes. The light on the minix stays on (blue) but there is no signal sent to the monitor and it is blank and eventually gives a no signal error blue screen. The only way I can get back to android desktop is to unplug, replug, reboot. So if it were a drm issue, and that didn't start being checked/implemented differently until 007, then it shouldn't show up until I flash either the stock 007e rom or your 1.7 finless, or 008/1.8 as well of course. Am I missing something else that happened between stock 006 rom and finless 1.6? Could it be the way that wifi or a different SU in the xbinary is being seen (and apps are checking for rooted, as Minix also puts SU in the xbinary dir) and crashing? That's why I originally thought it had something to do with the way that 1080p handling was changed because I thought that your 1.6 rom changed the way that 006 handled 1080p.

              1.8 based on 007e
              1.6 based on 005

Your XBMC build is fantastic. Thank you for building it. You should open your own thread for it as it would get more attention. Great job.

Cheers mate. I was going to start a thread when I made beta 2 but I got no feedback so presumed no one was really interested in it.

Just having a su binary in xbin (all ROM's have it) does not mean it is rooted. There are many ways APPs can check for root access.

I just don't know what the problem with the CBS APP is. Perhaps a logcat dump will tell us.

Is there a way to root this stock rom for people like us?

People usually sends feedback and post in the forum when things goes bad so this means that your xbmc work great.
                            Good job

Bob, I was able to figure out getting a logcat for the issue with CBS, ESPN, etc crash. See attached. I flashed finless 1.8 rom, loaded catlog app and cbs app from google play, started recording logcat, then ran cbs app, tried to stream a cbs show, then it buffered with a spinning wheel for about 3-5 seconds, then the screen went black, then monitor said "No Source", then went black again. I long pressed power as the blue light was still on in the X7. That would not reboot it, so I then unplugged power, replugged, rebooted. I'm not sure how to read the logcat or what to make of it but hopefully you can make something out of it.

Nope, your gonna open that thread right away :P.

I am so new to XBMC, i dont even know what it does, however, i loved the description of a friend of mine "it is DreamBox like, but software", i got the idea from that and i sure liked the Sport streams inside, however, i am still too manually attached to watch anything streaming from the internet, mainly Sopcast does it for me.

I have tried your app since the SuperRepo part awaked some research instincts on me, but i couldnt fire up the app, starts, blacks out, and goes back to home screen.

Please, invest on a thread, if not two, one introducing people to XBMC, or as you familiarised us with SBMC as well, seems like you have a lot to share, honestly .
