I haven't obviously tested it, but couldn't you take the kernel from the e.g. the QuickShot Mini ROM and flash it with the rest of Bob's ROM on a Mini?

I haven't obviously tested it, but couldn't you take the kernel from the e.g. the QuickShot Mini ROM and flash it with the rest of Bob's ROM on a Mini?

Dont want to brick my unit so need a definate answer before I do it.

Hey Bob, I don't know if anyone else has had one of these but I received another generic device today (CS918S) and it has a 4.2.2 rom on there dated the end of December.

It has a load of display options including 1080p, 720p, 24htz, contrast, brightness etc.

Also in sound settings it has a selection to enable passthru and spdif etc.

I have never seen all these settings in any other rom and didn't know if you needed it before I go losing it all lol.

I'll grab some screenys if you need them.

That's an AllWinner system not rockchip. Interesting it has all these settings but also probably because the hardware supports it!

I cant say since I never played with All Winner except once a while ago on a tablet.

Thanks bob for a great rom, I accidentally posted in the 1.7 rom ,

Can an anyone tell me why the netflix quality looks so bad ? It's perfect on the Apple TV.

Is is there another version of the app ? Is it something to do with the fact the x7 thinks it's a galaxy s III ?

I connected the Ethernet and it works fine now, even though the speed is fine on wifi it works much better over lan. Strange!

Hi minix.
There is a big issue for me concerning all 4.2.x version on x7 and x5.
All pcm sampling done at low freq. result in a major voice stuttering. I'm using wired mic connected to analog mic in.
To reconstruct use smart voice recorder or any voice recorder able to sample at 8k or 16k, 22k.
Playback the recorded file and here for yourself...very bad voice stuttering.
Is it hw limitation or kernel issues???
