    GM282 (CX919 II) - latest bootloader worked !!

Hi Bob, I was unsuccessful in my earlier attempts to flash this KK ROM to my GM282 (CX919 II) bought from Geekbuying. Today I tried again with a good USB cable, but no luck.
Then I tried latest bootloader 2.13 for KK from here and it worked !! KK looks awesome on the big TV Probably, you can include this information in your sticky for users of this stick

    Thanks for this KK ROM!

However, Wifi/BT are not working even though my chip is AP6210. Why would that be?
EDIT: Got it to work by flashing D33 kernel for J22 (aka GM282 aka CX919 II) from here

    Thanks D33!

been trying to get this installed on the mk902, Some wierd testing the blue led never comes on with any load tried a few now, and it will boot to your boot animation (heres where it gets verying interesting) it hangs at the boot log but i went to unplug it to reset as stuck in bootloop the box wouldnt power down i had power cord in my hand and i was ok maybe tv stuck then noticed its was still running??? then when i plugged power back (close to a minute later) the screen changed to the select language screen. i tried it again and got same thing. Strange results but very curious now as to why its able to remain on without power supplied.
Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.

Your getting power to it either from your TV HDMI cord or a USB device that is powered.

          Some issues

My working combination for my GM282 (aka CX 919 II aka J22)
          1. This KK 4.4.2 ROM
          2. Latest KK Bootloader 2.13
          3. D33's KK kernel for J22 (AP6210) for getting Wifi/BT to work

There are however minor issues that I am seeing:
          1. Antutu crashes Android in between the tests and restarts
          2. Getting hot, not dangerously though, with HD kernel.
          3. Boots up only when OTG is connected and not the regular USB port. My JB stock ROM used to boot up correctly using the regular USB port.

D33, for #2, I know this is because of Min 800 MHz CPU speed. I was trying to keep CPU speed by a CPU controller app but seems like the kernel locks it to that minimum.
Is there a kernel which gives me both this control + 1.8GHz flexibility when I want it?

I know JDFence had issues the OTG port and you guys were trying manipulating the voltages to fix this. Were you guys able to fix this?

Anyone has similar issues and any workarounds/solutions?

            Bob

Thanks ill check that but still cant get kitkat to boot and key/mouse doesnt work when it does load the screen for language screen so stuck with the litkat install on the mk902.

              Hi Ghan!
How can you determine if it gets dangerously hot or not?
I have a CX-919 and I don't think there is any temp sensor integrated in the chipset that can be read, how about yours? I'm using a external mounted fan and I'm planning to OC my stick to galaxy S4 performance.

Hi D33, first of all thanks for all of your hard work!

                Info:
I just wanted to share some information regarding the 1.8V fix:
I have a LG42" LCD which doesn't have any problem with with flickering at all, nor does my Fijitsu 24" monitor. When I tested my CX-919 on my friends Sony Bravia 55" TV it flickers like crazy (more black than picture), but when I set down the screen resolution to anything <1080p all flickering completely goes away.

                Question:
My plan is to use my CX-919 for game emulation, I've tested Mupen64 (descent fps ~50) and Reicast (~20-25 FPS = horrible).
Since I can see that the Galaxy S4 can handle these emulators at more or less at 100% speed I'm thinking of OC CPU/Mem and GPU to match its performance (~25000+ Antutu as target).

How do I go about overclocking these values, do it have to be flashed or can I do it during run time?
Thanks a lot dude, I'm confident that we can make this stick a beast!
EDIT: Was thinking to start with: 1.9GHz/800MHz/660MHz cpu/mem/gpu

If its anything like the rk3066 there is a thermal cut off, it will reboot your device if it gets too hot.

Also, it will never get anywhere near the Galaxy S4 in performance, completely different CPU and GPU. The GPU on these devices will hold you back much, much more then the CPU.

                      Ok, thanks for the info!
Let's just say (theoretically) that I have enough cooling to take care of all that extra heat from the APU from OC:ing the GPU, then this should be pretty feasible?
I'll gladly push this stick to its limits with extra cooling and heatsinks.

Hmm, but I recently hit 22096 with your excellent 1080p kernel.
I was hoping to show that with an step-by-step guide for adding sufficient cooling one could cream out that extra performance for gaming.

EDIT: Would you mind pointing me to this post regarding OC-options?

                          Nope.

Clock for clock, the CPU is much faster on the S4, the Mali GPU used for the rk series is a 4+ year old GPU not really designed for 1080p.

The ram on the S4 is disgustingly fast, meaning much more memory bandwidth for it's much better GPU. It's not getting anywhere near the level, we are talking about top of the line here though, you can't buy a cheap AMD CPU and expect Intel performance.

Edit: I have an S4 and ran Antutu. I get a score of 28000+. My GPU score for 3D is 8156, the highest I have seen for any android stick is less than 3000.

Holy crap! Ok I now start to realize that this can't be achieved.
Thanks a lot for your numbers by the way!
Well my goal will be to pump up the GPU performance a little to ensure great performance for N64 emulation, I'd say it's good now. Regarding at least good performance for Reicast, this is probably not gonna happen.
