Flemming, as a net engineer, i adivse you to systemise your addressing through DHCP and reservations, that was my workadround so far, also, you are using DD-WRT, whoever is capable of installing that knows enough to sort out a private network

The thing is, in this particular situation, that i cannot get by with just using reservations. I run UnblockUS to watch foreign Netflix (a lot). UnblockUS needs the two DNS adresses to be specific. This is why i have to set it up in static mode.

Also i cannot put the DNS adresses on the router, since all our gear then would use those two DNS adresses. Less than optimal.

Just to clarify, it is no problem at all when running DHCP dynamic IP and DNS, neither if it is reserved or not. But this does not allow me to push certain DNS IPs to my X7.

For now, i need to unplug the ethernet cable at boot, and connect it once booted still worth it. This rom is a lot smoother than any 4.2.2 roms i tried!

Flemming I have done some testing with my set up, i can replicate your issue if I set a static IP address range in the range controlled by my dhcp server, as soon as I set up my router with a restricted dhcp range and set my static IP outside that range it boots OK, did you try this?

Fleming just read your last post we were typing at the same time, there is an app on the play store that let's you set your DNS on the device then free version only supports goggle DNS but if you buy the paid version you can set any dns

Yes, and i had no luck. I tried this with DD-WRT, but not with Open-WRT...yet Let me test immediately.

I can tell that i even tried to turn off DHCP completely in the router, but it did not help. Then i tried to toggle just about any setting on the router, desperate to find the bad setting, but no luck there either.

But i will give it a go with Open-WRT, having the scope start at 192.168.1.100 and stretch to 192.168.1.150, and my X7 will have 192.168.1.2 being free of the scope.

After Shutdown icon away

After a Shutdown the First and Second Icon from right in my dock is away. I use the normal launcher. does anybody else have this problem?
And google text to speech always does the same update.

it's know issue and will be fixed in next release.

Some routers block the reserved/pooled DHCP addresses that are not assigned by the process, but i am not aware of this feature in consumer devices.

I dont think the issue is the router firmware, they are both very similar anyway. What router do you use btw?

If this is not DHCP related, it could be Auto MDIX, which is a protocol that negotiates the state between the two ends of the links, for example Half or Full duplex, or 1 Gig or 100 meg, try configuring fix numbers, the X7 is 100Mbit Full Duplex, mirror those settings in the router as well, ive had issues with 1gig ports before.

I turned off negotiation on the router port connected to the X7, manually selected 100mb full duplex, but it's the same result. Dancing spots until i disconnect the LAN cable.

It's an old Buffalo WHR-G125 with 100mb ports, but i'll leave in a moment to get a new one (it was way due anyways) with gigabit switch and dual band 802.11n wireless, probably Zyxel n750 NBG5615.

If the new router solves my problem, the old Buffalo will surely get an autopsy performed with heavy duty power tools and goat blood maybe at fullmoon, while i scream 'klaatu barada nikto' into the night sky!

looks like we have to leave it to wasser to find out what's causing that hang, it seems to be waiting for something rather crashing.

there should be a dmesg output of everything going well (DHCP), another one with the cable disconnected, and one through unplugging so it can boot further, im sure it can help wasser a lot

I got a new router. It is fast as hell, but i still cannot boot my X7 with static IP settings, same as before. Now I am almost positive that the problem is not with the router.

I would be very happy to post logfiles or anything like that, if it can help? Please, if anyone could link me maybe to a tutorial showing how, and what files are interesting, then i'll do it straight away.

CIFS mounted folders are empty

Mounted CIFS folders are only visible to the app, which mounted them. This effectively make impossible the mounting CIFS shares automatically and making them available to all applications (XBMC, etc).

It isn't really a ROM problem, but it can be fixed by a kernel patch or with a ROM change. Two alternative methods are described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2106480

Thanks, i know xbmc permit to mount nfs folder but i use Mizuu with mx player with nfs folder mounted permanently with others roms. It s more user friendly for my kids and me
