Desperately need help

Hi d33 / fellow users,

Thanks for the great work so far for the community.

I haven't had any response from Bob-Finless via private IM, so I am turning to help from d33 and public users... please help!

I have been trying to mod my MiniPC/TV stick recently with only limited success. My latest problem is trying to get NAND to mount. I've spend quite some time fiddling with CWM, TWRP, usb-otg issues but with no luck (details below).

My device: RK3188/T CX919II TV stick

ROM:
KitKat AP6210 Finless 2.0 ROM BETA (289 megs)
from Thread: NEW - Finless ROM 2.0 - KitKat 4.4.2 for AP6210 wifi - BETA

Scenario A
Kernel:
(default) kernel_stock

and also OC kernels from KitKat OverClocked kernel set (188 megs)
kernel_cpu1608h_gpustock400_ddrstock400
kernel_cpu1704h_gpustock400_ddrstock400

Problems:
Wifi doesn't work (not sure why)
CPU speed only goes to up 1.2GHz, even with OC kernels


Scenario B
So I tried kernels made by d33 from this thread:
Kitkat Kernels for All (well most!)

Version 3.0 kernels:
AP6210
AP6210-Alt (Alternative pinouts for some models like CX919-II, J22)

Success:
Wifi works

Problem:
CPU speed only goes to up 1.2GHz


Scenario C
4.2.5 kernels:

kernel_KK_v4.2.5_TVSTICK_AP6210-Alt_SD
kernel_KK_v4.2.5_TVSTICK_AP6210_SD
kernel_KK_v4.2.2_TVBOX_AP6210_SD

Success:
CPU speed goes up to 1.4GHz (everything feels 3x smoother, this is great!)
Wifi works fine

Problem:
"NAND flash" (SD Card internal) is now always unmounted (External SD Card is fine)
The pre-installed "Reboot" app from Finless ROM no longer works


I tried updating CWM - no luck.
Installed TWRP - I can see SD Card (internal) in Recovery Mode, I tried WIPING to format it, but still no luck. When I click on "NAND FLASH" in the "Explorer" app, it says "Internal Memory has been unmounted".



Ideally I would like to use Finless ROM, with NAND Flash (internal memory) Mounted, 1.4GHz CPU or faster, and Wifi working. Is this possible?

Could you please advise on how I can solve this problem?
Would you suggest another different ROM/kernel combo?

It looks like you have a model T(1,4 clock) , but maybe not with the ap6210 wifi chipset. I guess d33 will need your dmesg from stock ROM to see what hardware constellation you have in detail.

you need to update your rom to a non beta kk release, Finless 2.0 is based on beta source and only compatible with v3 D33 kernels, i suggest trying Veclinux rom with D33 v4.25 kernel, not sure what wifi chip your stick has probably ap6210alt but you will know once flashed and booted . use the download link in post #112

Every Kernel i download also many from this forum doesnt work with my TV Box Q7 RK3188T

I have a MK809iii_ rk3188-T chip with the ap6210, and everything works fine for me with the 4.2.5 kernel ap6210 tvstick hd
my cpu is now the min = 504mhz - max = 1,608ghz

You don't understand the issue here. You kernel is limited due to the code within it. I don't modify existing kernels, i build from scratch.

Download the appropriate kernel from the first post.

-NAND mounting issues have dissappeared (Great)
-But now Wifi is terribly slow, like it takes several minutes to download a few MBs

I tried Wifi Analyzer to switch to an optimal Wifi Channel, but it makes no difference.
Not sure why wifi is now giving me issues when the same Kernel on a different ROM got it working fine before??

Not sure why your WiFi is working slow, for me my mk908ii has the best WiFi performance out of all my devices, maybe yours has developed a hardware issue, you said you had nand mounting issues, what stick do you have?

My device is the RK3188/T CX919II TV stick.
As the CPU went up to 1.6GHz it would be the original RK3188.

I only had the NAND mounting issue when I was using Finless 2.0 ROM using D33's v4.2.5 kernels.
It went away after I used a more modern ROM, which was Neomode.

I might try wassers ROM for MINIX x7 and see if the Wifi problem goes away.

Were you able to find Veclinux ROM with Magnus33's mods?
