With the latest 109 update, HDMI is working much better. Since my A/V receiver only has 2 HDMI inputs, I have to use a Monoprice 4 port HDMI switch. Prior to this updated firmware, when using the switcher for my Vega S89H my screen was all flutery, and not useable. I had to use one of the receiver ports, now I can use the HDMI switcher. This solved a biggie for me.
thanks
Update:
Started to watch a recorded football game from last night from live tv stream, mpeg 2 108i, every 5 to 10 minutes the sound would drop out for about 5 to 10 seconds, and sometimes the screen would go blank for a second or two. After watching for about half an hour, I switched back to the HDMI port on the A/V receiver and the problem went away.
So, the 7. From Oman's list for Optimization display effect for HDMI still needs a little more tweaking.
Also, I suffered from heat causing the video to become jerky, this problem seems to be solved. So, I won't need to drill hole in my box. The temp (using CpuTemp app) goes up to 80C and stays there for a few minutes then goes back to 75C, it used to almost immediately drop to 55C.
So, jerky video from the heat dissipation problem seems to be solved. I won't need to drill holes in my box anymore.
Also, watched the football game using the latest nightly Kodi 14 alpha 3, and it played flawlessly. Not a single dropped or skipped frame at all during the 3.5 hour game, that is just awesome. It was an mpeg 2 TS file and here is the media info for this file.
