These boxes (at least the Beelink M8 2gb/16gb that I have) IMHO are very good value for money, they do everything that an android device should do + they run XBMC/SPMC/KODI/whatever reasonably well except for an annoying bug that in my experience probably effects all AMLOGIC devices, you need to set an audio offset of -0.225 secs on most SD videos. If there was a button added to Kodi to put or remove this offset for Amlogic devices then all would be well.

    My 2c..

I turn on my M8 box access XBMC but after maybe 90 minutes XBMC crashes and the box revert to main screen

          111K4 won't install

Here is what happens when I try to install 111K4 on my M82 :Click image for larger version

I first try the UPDATE app but it results in an error. Since I am in the recovery mode anyway I now tried through that but that resulted in another error. Footer is wrong it says. Anyone any ideas on this one?

Try a different sd card sometimes they are picky.

Thanks, tried that but still: Footer is wrong, signature verification failed..

Also, the reason I want the upgrade is that my TV (LG, UHD model) starts flickering when I set output mode to any 4K output mode.. if anyone know the solution to either of these problems I'd be very happy

The recovery file is broken if i remember correct so you can try using the recovery from the 110k or older firmware.

Or use finless 2.1 which is the improved updated version of this one.

It's so odd, even the Finless 2.1 ROM results in the same error. I tried to install TWRP in order to switch signature checks off but installing TWRP posed too much risk of bricking it.

(I even tried to replace the recovery.img from the 111K4 ROM with the one from the Finless 2.1 ROM - no success of course)

Your not the only ones who had this issue.

Some had luck going back to a older firmware then updating and others used the burning tool to bypass the issue.

Its simple... Unpack the *.zip File, into its Three separate *.aml, *.zip and *.img Files.
                      Then it should work!

                        Thanks

I did however manage to get Finless on it somehow. It was a long and weird road though:

1: for some reason the contents of my external SD card do show up in the booted software but not in recovery mode..
2: I must have pricked the reset button once too many because the toothpick method stopped working after a couple of successes
                        3: So I installed a reboot-app
4: Copied the Finless-Rom zip to the internal SD card
5: I left the external SD-card in the card slot as well. On it the Finless ROM and the TWRP.img I had taken from the Zipfile and renamed recovery.img
6: rebooted in recovery using the app
7: for some reason it rebooted into TWRP recovery(step 5?)
8: Contents of external SD card not visible but upon going to the internal SD-card, I was able to find and successfully install Finless.

What a mess, but now it works. However, the reason for doing all this was a problem that still persists.

When I go to settings - display - HDMI output mode setting and change to any 4K output, my screen flickers, blinks, blacks out etc. I have an LG UHD TV and have tried all 4 HDMI ports but all give the same result. On the side of the HDMI ports on my TV it says: 4K@60Hz. So does anyone recognize this issue?

Have you tried a different HDMI cable, preferably a good quality one. Also have you made sure your LG tv has the most recent software updates?

I had issues with a LG tv a while back and a software update sorted out the problem.
                          Minix Neo X7 - Wasser 1.0.4 OC'd - Kodi-helix with passthrough

Tried a couple but I guess that they are all sorta cheapish.. Could that truly make a difference? The TV updates automatically, just got another one That should be taken care of, also it does play youtube 4k and downloaded testfiles.

You can try to copy it from usb to your internal memory card and then run the update I guess
