I have a lot of problem with a failed scrip with the subtitles with this version of linux and my m8 tv box, I have un mx tv box working with openelec and don't have the problem with the subtitles, somebody can help me, thanks.

Is this the only/best linux xbmc for the m8?
Was going to get one for my old man as a gift, is it real bad to be wired with ever changing IP?

Would this box be suitable to flash this on?

From personnal experience you would be better off getting your old man a matricom mx2 and put codesnake's openelec on it,i'ts very stable and plays anything for me without issues.

Will have a Google of it, will plugins work on it? (mashup and smoothstreams in particular)

Havent had a box since the mx dual core when using j1nx nl's Linux beta

JustMe has Openelec build for M8 boxes... it's beta but might work well for you

I second that. Codesnake's openelec on the Mx2 box is a great build. Runs super fast and very clean
