Is the remote round or square. The round remote has the rounded bottom.

Does it say Model M8 on the bottom of the box. And if you open up yours it my actually say, M9&M8_v0.91 as mine says the same thing but instead of 91 it says 92

I have tried same in my openelec Apple TV 1 ,works fine but in m8 openelec ,in tv headend gui it's different and doesn't save network scan settings.
I think bug in tv headend in this build .
When I choose pre define county list ,it doesn't get saved ,hence zero mux.

Yes I have it configured that way, although I am curious now, how do you switch between HDMI and SPDIF audio output?

                      Thanks

                        New build for M8

Today I have a little surprise for the community. Finally I have made the HDMI CEC working on M8 boxes! Now you can use the remote from your TV to control the XBMC.

Couple of questions regarding OpenELEC from a noob:

                            1. Is doing a clean install better than updating?
                            2. If there's no difference, can you skip updates to the most recent one or do they have to be done one after the other?

                            Thanks.

Clean install erases all your settings, installed addons etc, but update does not.
You can apply updates in any order, and even downgrade to a previous version.

Many thanks. Are there any other improvements in the updates or just the things you've mentioned in this thread? None of it applies to my setup that's all.
