Can anyone tell me whether this unit will work?

    Thanks in advance

Thank you codesnake. Just tries it now and seems great so far. I love the fact that it sleeps rather than powers off.

Does anyone one know how I can add 7 icon addon shortcuts? Doesn't work using the maintenance too probably because it's Gotham.
      Anyone?

Is it normal for the first splash screen (the chip) to be displayed for so long, 70 seconds in my case. The mx2 version has a total boot up time of less than 30secs.
Codesnake, which do you prefer to use in terms or performance and stability? Mx2 or m8?

No, that's not normail if the first splash is displayed for 70 seconds. Boot time of the M8 and MX2 should be almost identical.
            I prefer to use M8.

Turned off and back on. Now won't boot last the openelec splash screen. Stuck.

Message at top left saying "starting debugging shell... Type exit to quit### can't access tty; job control turned off"

additional info. I flashed the OE on top of stanes Linux. I know you said it doesn't matter which fw you flash on top of but could that's be an issue?

Same thing happened to me, Boot into recovery and do a wipe data/factory reset and reboot, That fixed my issue.

Yes I did all of that.

If I plug-in my pi it is 1080 and I can use cec.
But when I plug-in my m8 it all doesn't work.

I dont know what to do anymore.... wish i could go back to droid, atleast cec and 1080p was working.

Has anybody else had any sound issues, every now and then i'll play a movie or tv show, and the voices will be really high pitched? Doesn't happen all the time.
