[ROM] OpenELEC for Amlogic-based TV boxes (M8, MXQ, TV110, MX2/G18)

I have a same problem. I installed openelec, it works fine, i configured, but open restart, the openelec welcome wizard popped up, all my settings were gone. Every time powered off, the welcome screen is there.

AML-8726MX, v2.2 board
Flashed with 1.16 before openelec

Getting some stuttery playback, anything I can adjust to help it or is it a file issue itself?

If you update from XBMC to Kodi your settings will not be preserved. Make a backup before updating. The problem is that XBMC stores ints settings in .xbmc directory, but Kodi in .kodi directory.
You can try to SSH in and rename the directory:

rm -rf /storage/.kodi && mv -f /storage/.xbmc /storage/.kodi && reboot

Ok, apologies.

Box is M8 ,fresh install. 1280x720 at 60hz. Frame rate is 25-40, got this from O menu option.

Unsure what Codec or where to get that info for you.

For most smooth playback set display mode under Settings->System->Video Output to 1080p 60hz or 50hz. Make sure you set settings level to Advanced or Expert. Then set Settings->Video->Playback->Adjust display refresh rate to match video to On start/stop.

anybody knows what happens to the tv tuner when openelec is ported to wetek play.
i mean would the tv tunner still work when connected to a satellite dish?

Problem with m8 square box remote and screen

Hello to every one I just bought a new M8 the square one, but the remote control is different that was in my first one is (square) but in my first box is more round-slimer-less button more fuctionality than that one
i flash the openelec kodi firmware (the new version) is come on I put the addons I watch a movie and after I turn it off. After that I was try to turn it on and the blue light come on but the screen on TV is black and it shows like is no device connected on it. I try to put the box in second TV with different hdmi but still the same I try to flash with toothpick with Gotham version but with no respond. Pls if somebody can help me? I will appreciate. Thank u very much and help help help help help

This issue is hard to fix for me, because I cannot reproduce it. Works just fine on my LG TV.
