I just installed the latest RileyROM 2.0.1 on my new P4 tablet. After boot i did go to settings, but also my settings don't show a "User" setting anywhere.
What can i do to get it show up and working?

      Hi there
and thanks for your Rom Riley.

My p4 works fine but sometimes reboots (randomly?) during browsing or streaming music to soundcloud or movies to chromecast, screenmirrowing ... Just after a while. I dont know if it belongs to hardware probs or whatever. Does anyone share this Problem?

It makes me crazy and this Tab more and more useless for me..
      Maybe someone has advice?

      -edit-

I changed runtime settings from ART to Dalvik and uncheck "force GPU rendering" (i dont know why it was checked) in developer settings. Now it works much better and smooth. But i still have no multi-user option and charging battery over night lasts till 95 percent and the device is shut down.

Hi, another user here missing the multi user option in the settings menu, below Apps. I just installed 2.0.1 Wifi version. Do you need some logs from my pipo p4 so you can check what's going on? Any ideas to test? Cheers

Finally I made it. I installed xposed with the multi user add on, and it worked after rebooting. I got the how-to from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpos...phone-t2676516

            Hi All,

I can also confirm that multi-user support is missing from 2.01 Wifi version. It was present at v1.9 but now is missing..

            Thanks

The P4 is very likely to be my next tablet: right size, right price, a rom by Randy and (maybe?) a kernel by d33. A disastrous experience with my previous tablet has raised two points of concern though, so I would like to ask P4 owners: is its Wi-Fi reception any good? And how loud can it become at maximum volume?

Also, one more thing. The model sold at GeekBuying:

China-1 Stock | Buy Pipo P4 8.9 Inch Android 4.4 RK3288 Quad Core 1.8GHz PLS 1920*1200 Touch Screen Tablet PC 2GB/16GB GPS HDMI Bluetooth - Black online at unbeatable prices. ✓Free Shipping ✓Limited Time Sale ✓Local Warehouses.

Is the 3G one, right? Or does "3G" refer to it being supported without needing a dongle?

Good tip, thanks! Say, Randy, if a new version of your ROM becomes a necessity, would it be possible for it to have these two files removed by default?

The 3G version has it's own radio and SIM card...but has frequency limitations. They aren't compatible in all countries.

I will experiment with removing those apps.

So it's the WiFi version then, excellent.

I hope someone can answer my question regarding maximum possible volume and WiFi reception, as they were major downsides of my previous tablet (especially the latter).

                    Names are deceiving.

TelephonyProvider.apk isn't what you think it is. If you remove it...Google Play Store quits working.

TeleService.apk is the only apk I would recommend removing.

Whatever might help avoid battery drain is ok, thanks for investigating that.

                        Hi Zonk,

Recently bought one of these and I love it.

One thing you do need to know is the speakers are very low quality so if this is something that is important to you then I suggest that this tablet may not be for you. There were lots of other great things about it:
                        Display is great
Size is what I need on public transport
                        Fast, no lag
                        Runs the things I need
Build quality seems good, some people suggested this as a major issue with pipo tablets but seems good to me
Battery life lasts a day with plenty to spare but then my usage is most probably only music and browsing for around 2.5 hours

                        Regards,

                        Sando

The solution I found for the poor speaker quality was to install Viper4Android FX from the Google Play Store. It requires root to use, but if you are running my ROM you will be rooted. This app has a little bit complicated setup process, but just run through the screens.

I can't remember the exact setup I used, but trial and error was pretty fast in determining which set of drivers work on the P4.

                          Enjoy!!!!

                            Hello rrileypm,
I have been using your ROM and it's quite good, but I have two issues that maybe you (or another member of this forum) could solve:
-Can I use 16 gb as "apps memory" and use an external SD as "external memory"? Right now I have 8/8, and "nand flash" is almost full, "internal storage" has less than 2 gb used and apps don't recognize external SD. I can't use the SD to have data such maps for nokia HERE, downloaded music from Google Play Music... they only use "internal storage"

-The other thing is that my tablet turns on every time I connect it to a charger. And I would like to disable this option and charge it turned off...is it possible?

Thank you for your great job!!!

I can offer an alternative boot.img that swaps internal and external SD. Stay tuned.

Tablets with Rockchip processors have always charged with either the device booted to system, or in a charging mode similar to recovery. This is a setting in the kernel...which we don't have for the 3288's. That will be a problem that Pipo needs to address since they have the code.

OK, I've done a new boot.img which swaps internal and external sd cards.

                                1. Download the file and place in the RileyROM folder of the ROM kit.
                                2. Open the flash tool and uncheck all of the components listed except for boot.img.
                                3. Click the browse box to the right of the boot.img line and browse to the P4_SD_swap_boot.img file and select it.
                                4. Connect your P4 to your USB and "switch" to flash mode.
                                5. Do NOT format NAND this time.
                                6. Click "Run" to only flash this new boot.img file.

The tablet will reboot after the flash. Internal and external SD cards should be swapped.

If there's a problem, just reflash the original boot.img.

                                Sorry, I don't have my P4 with me....so I haven't tested it.
