I'll post RetroArch for Jarvis beta together with next Jarvis build.
@kszaq, thanks for the link. I'll take a look. I'll look forward to next Jarvis build and RetroArch. Cheers.

After running one SD ROM you don't have to use toothpick to run another one from SD card, it should run automatically. Are you trying to run the old 7.0 build? I recommend trying 6.90.2.

Sorry for a noob question.........but I am trying to install fresh 6.90.2 from SD card using the toothpick method........nothing happens...

I have android on NAND and I am trying to install openelec on SD card.......6.0.3.1 works fine for me.......but nothing happens when i try to install latest one i.e 6.90.2.....

        Steps I am following

        1) Write image on SD card
        2) Put toothpick in AV jack and poweron the device.
        3) Openelec installation starts
        4) Reboot and openelec loads fine

Issue is this is not working on latest build..... Is it something wrong I am doing or its just issue with my device ? Its an MXQ OTT box and I am trying the HD18Q build

Try this: run 6.0.3.1/6.0.3.4 from SD card and then upgrade to 6.90.2 (using TAR file).

              Here's a promised Jarvis build: http://s805.eu/test/6.91.1/

There have been many changes in upstream OpenELEC tree so I label this a test build. Kodi is upgraded to 16.1rc2.

updated and ...........went through the skin menus, opend an add on and did a serch for somting, got what i serched for and.......kodi freezes, again nothing works, no responce from remote/keyboard, used ssh to reboot.
so if i mannaged to ssh (use JuiceSSH in my LG) it is not openelec that stops to responce its kodi, right?

Had a quick play with the new build and all seems fine. Don't think there's any skin problems, suspend works fine with wifi and bluray drive working after resume. Will test further tonight.

EDIT: One thing I did notice was that the power off from menu did work when I first installed the new build and the power button on the remote caused OE to reboot after power off, but then didn't work anymore. I will have a play with this and may even reinstall the new version to try and get the power off to work at least once so I can take a samba log. I will get a log after power off stops working from the hard-boot. Reason? Well just my hot USB sticks and perhaps even if the power off worked it may not solve the problem as I'm aware even in off mode the box is still powered up so probably powering the USB sticks.

These all crashes look like an addon bug. Maybe it got updated in the meantime and that's why you did not see more crashes.

I already explained poweroff/suspend in my previous post. I suspect your USB sticks don't implement suspend state properly and that's why they get so hot when box is suspended. I have tested a few USB-powered drives and they always power off when I suspend my box.

If anyone wondered, my 6.91.1 build == official 6.95.1 beta.

kszaq OK, this may or may not be something you want to look into!

So as said above, if I select shut down from the Kodi power menu it sometimes shuts down but most of the time hangs. If my box shuts down from the power menu I can start my box from the remote control power button i.e Soft-boot (if that's what it's termed as).

I took a samba log after a successful shut down, from kodi menu.

Then when the box hung after I attempted another shut down, again from kodi menu, I took a log after hard-boot. For some reason I had the log I generated from accessing logs in samba as well as one 1 minute before, not sure what that means but I'll provide both just note that the one a minute later is the one I generated.

Will PM logs in a sec.

And no, I'm not confusing this with suspend which works perfectly from power button without accessing Kodi power menu.

First of all thx for the reply and for the time u spend on looking through the logs, since the 2'nd reboot I didn't have any skin/play issue with the build, the cpus bug dosent worry m as u explained before
Perhaps I should have waited before posting.
So all in all looks fine
And again thx for every thing.

Why the posts out of sink?

kszaq Hmm you would have thought a big company like SanDisk could get that right but then again they may have their reasons. Of course love to have a large SSD but they're just too expensive. Regular harddrive? Err often too noisy, I have a couple of 3.5 external drives which I don't use because of the noise! maybe a 500GB Seagate 2.5 at a good price?

Does anybody know if a 500GB 2.5 drive gets enough power from just the one connection using a caddy i,e, not using the extra power cable? Not really that bothered as the SanDisk 128GB sticks I use have a 5 year guarantee.

Yes, good work again K! Thank you.

EDIT: This looks a bargain: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-inch...ords=500gb+2.5
Still a bit expensive, but good price!

EDIT 2: I think the prices must have dropped: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FXJWO5...ing=UTF8&psc=1
                              Even better price!

kszaq Possible breakthrough! I just tried suspend for 10mins to see if it turned off my USB sticks, it never worked on older builds, AND!!! It seems to work, USB stick were very cool and on resume all worked great. MY LED has gone red, which doesn't bother me as I hate that bright blue LED on my MXQ, what were they thinking?!! So I'm a happy bunny.

Will double check and let you know if there's any problems. Yes this is the new Jarvis beta I'm on.

                                Thanks again!
