Bit off topic, but we'll get back on track soon!
This looks like a good cheap drive and looks like it only needs usb power (1 port): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Slim...ZRHTKQJ7X0CNQC
Tempted! Just don't have the pennies at the, but a contender together with the WD.

PatrickJB Thank you for your extensive testing and logs. I'll try to work on power/reboot thing but this is only possible if I can reproduce your issues or some other come up. Meanwhile please enjoy the release, I'm happy to hear that skin reset issue is no more.
I'm sorry if I sometimes sound harsh but I'm not a native English speaker and sometimes it's hard to find appropriate words to speak out my mind.
As for external drives, I use WD Elements - both USB-powered 2.5" and externally powered 3.5". I also have a USB-powered Seagate drive. They are all very silent!

I have two mxq all black. I was able to install openelec on both with out any trouble. On the v.10 board everything seems to work great but I finish my build and unplug it to take ie to the other room. When I plug it back up the setting I had just went back to default. On the v.03 board I just get no sounds. I have to unplug the hdmi then plug it back then I'll get sounds. I've tried with other hdmi and it does they same thing.

People like to transfer their own video and music library's to Hard disk so they never need their original cd/dvd/blu-ray again. Also people have emulators and have a library of roms. You can never fully rely on a stream anyway, they come and go like flies.
