Flash the new wasser-rom the usual way.
Then reinstall TI-Backup and restore all data and apps from backup.

That's the way I do it.

      Reflashed kitkat firmware.
I have a full HD Sony bravia kdl-50w828b.

      Any help?
Have my R89 connected via HDMI to my full HD PC-monitor (with tv function).
My PC is connected via DVI. So I've to switch the input sources at the monitor to use one of them.
But sometimes, when i forget to swich to HDMI-input before the R89 has booted I also get the "signal not compatible" prompt.
So may be you need to switch your tv on and select the right input source before booting the R89.

I upgraded to 3.0.1 and am using Wasser Kodi 15.2 RC2 with passthrough turned on with SPDIF and HDMI and I noticed that the voices are slowed or have a lot of extra bass. wasser can this be fixed? This audio problem doesn't happen on the stock video player. Both media and libstage codecs have this same issue. I also noticed that MX player will no longer support passthrough on 3.0.1. Can this be fixed too please?

DTS and Dolby Digital work fine on the stock player. Since I play files over the network having a working Wasser Kodi would be great. None of the other versions of XBMC, Kodi, or SPMC support passthrough on 3.0.1 with SPDIF or HDMI.

FYI MX Player worked on 3 RC4

agree........... and for DTS and Dolby Digital via spdif passthrough kindly try mxplayer nightly 1.7.41 and the latest codec from xda-developers , i believe it's labelled 1.7.32 rev1

I've not noticed any slowed voices.

Is there a specific service or file that we can use to try and replicate the issue?

Yes MX Player with the custom codec does do dolby passthrough.

Try any MKV file made with Make MKV. All of my movies have this problem, DTS and DD. If I turn off passthrough the voice pitch is correct. If I turn on passthrough the voice pitch drops really low.

wasser The low voice is fixed in rk-kodiapp-15.2-lollipop.apk but unfortunately Dolby Digital now has problems. RKlib can only decode the DD MKV files in rk-kodiapp-15.2-lollipop.apk and it adds subtle audio artifacts on HDMI and SPDIF. I tried changing a lot of the settings but didn't have any luck getting rid of the DD audio artifacts. The RKLib also has the audio artifacts in DTS too. Do you have any suggestions?

Just flashed the 3.0.1 yesterday and tried the linked Wasser Kodi and rk-kodiapp-15.2-lollipop.apk (which apperas to be 15.1 when installing).
Both work with passthrough DTS over HDMI bitsream. So it is a huge improvement to the prior versions. No stutter and no drops.
Unfortunately the sound seems out of sync with both.

MX Player with latest custom codec from xda (1.7.32 rev1) works flawlessly.

Thx for the good work! My Orbsmart S92 is finally living up to its potential.

I've retested MKV files and can't find any issues that concern me on that score with either sound or passthrough via SPDIF or HDMI and I don't have any sync issues.

Sync issues can also occur because of the passthrough equipment being used, so there can be a need to adjust audio sync to compensate as I found out last night when using a streaming service called NowTV using the app on my new smart TV. Audo sync was out because of how the soundbar processed the audio and it was a simple case of using the soundbar remote to advance things with a couple of clicks to sync correctly.

Thanks for testing. I have sync issues but that's easily correctable in Kodi. Just clck the sound icon once the movie is playing and set the sync offset. Select apply to all movies at the bottom.

I have been testing my MKV files over Samba inside Kodi and Innocomm Samba. That hasn't been an issue in the past but it maybe this time. I'll test local playing of the MKV files and see if that fixes my sound issues.

Edit: local files have the same issues with wasser-kodi-15.2rc2.apk (low/slow vocals) and rk-kodiapp-15.2-lollipop.apk (artifacts in the audio) with passthrough

Here's how to test the low voice issue. Play a movie that has good vocals. I used Avatar. First play it with passthrough turned off in Kodi. Notice the higher pitched vocals. Then turn on passthrough and play it again. See if you notice the low slow vocals. wasser-kodi-15.2rc2.apk has this issue for me.

I was able to recreate this with Beelink R89 and Tronsmart R28 meta and pro on a Pioneer Elite and 3 Yamaha receivers using wasser 3.0.1

                                I'll give Avatar a try.

Update: Tried Avatar but was unable to hear any difference to my ears.

I was still intrigued by sync issues though and kept trying MKV files and was on occasion able to reproduce some sync issue, which was large but not consistently.

Currently trying the revised posted Kodi and so far, so good.
