Running this on both my RKM V5 and HPH-NTV6, and it's truly excellent, for my purposes. Smooth Netflix with steady audio sync/smooth SPMC with no AV issues/superb color depth/excellent ethernet on V5/fast wifi (5ghz) on V6.

I'm handling power management with a usb remote and short button press to turn the screen on and off. It works very well for me. Will try to adopt the external sd card as internal storage next.

      Thank you, Maestro.

On the V5, ethernet not only works, it's really fast. I never use wifi on that device since the gigabit LAN port is so good. Yes, no bluetooth there but on the NT-V6 BT works very well.

Ok was just wondering. On mk902ii network and wifi bluetooth dont work so thought you found a fix 😃 would be Awsome to have this working on htc devices.

thanks wasser for your unmatched effort....
using version 4.0.10 with Superceleron kodi 16.1 RC2 ; yes SPDIF passthrough audio works (with no video stutter) , BUT playback gets muted once you forward or rewind the playback. so the only way would be watching a movie without touching the playback controls...
and for me this is the kodi version with the lesser issues....
aside from the mentioned , a great rom as always from wasser....

                    4.0.10 feedback

Testing done using WiFi 5Ghz and Ethernet
All video testing using MX Player Pro 1.8.8 with rev1 custom audio codec , FTMC 1.1 Sep 1 2016 and SPMC 16.4.2
                    HDMI Bitstream enabled
HDMI display resolutions set as default of 1920x1080p-60Hz but also tested with 1920x1080p-50Hz and 3840x2160p-30Hz
Auto display refresh rate set to On in both firmware and FTMC/SPMC
All apps denied startup except for those of need.

                    Installed OK without issue

                    Root working as usual

Connectivity to PC now has automatic MTP

External SD card and USB drives all accessible as before.

WiFi seen on both 2,4 and 5Ghz channels and connects to each without issue, with 5Ghz working extremely well.

                    Ethernet excellent too as before.

Chrome web browsing nice and smooth and fast response to loading web pages as before.

UI fairly smooth although I did notice that there was occasional lag but nothing that gives me any concerns.

                    Video Playback

                    MX Player

I don't know whether MX Player is getting worse but across the board I found a great deal of lag, freezing or refusal to play quite a few videos that would be the norm.

AC3 and DTS sound is Ok though.

Gave up quite quickly though as it was clear that there was some kind of issue.

                    Youtube

Youtube smooth playback at 1080p, although can show some lag until an app cache clean is performed.

                    iPlayer

Excellent and the best playback that I have seen for a while.

                    SPMC

Overall playback quality very good, although no AC3 or DTS when passthrough enabled.

                    FTMC

The latest build takes all video that I would expect it to play, eats it for breakfast and asks for more and is the favoured choice over SPMC. Kudos to SuperCeleron for his efforts here.

RKMC acceleration works fine for some things but not for others, especially 4k, so recommend keeping it turned off until it is further developed by Rockchip.

No AC3 or DTS when passthrough enabled

                    General Video

I did find that if I used HDMI mode of 1920x1080p-50Hz then overall playback was rather laggy, so 1920x1080p-60Hz is the preferred choice for 1080p.

3840x2160p-30Hz works perfectly except that with HEVC videos there was a tendency for screen corruption as in this example.

                    http://

                    Other

I also found that randomly, after exiting an app that there would be just a plain grey screen and running other apps at this point would also result in plain colour screens or various multi coloured vertical streaks across the whole screen. However, when attempting thr take a screenshot, the image captured was the app(s) as I would expect to see them.

A reboot is usually required to resolve.

This situation also happens when changing HDMI resolutions in settings, although it can be random.

As ever, many thanks for your efforts Wasser.

Great to see the FreakTab Irregulars gathering to celebrate Wasser's latest masterpiece. Always a pleasure to hear from you, Bajann, you too, Scoot, and of course Bluesman's disciplined mini-reviews are always informative.

This rom just works on so many levels, it's the go-to firmware for my 3288 devices. I'm downloading a build of FTMC (latest or not, I don't know) since I haven't tried it before, but SPMC was certainly a pleasant surprise after my struggles with Kodi on previous MM iterations. I'm not into multiple or esoteric audio formats and I don't use a receiver, so those aspects aren't among my requirements. But I value a fast, glitch-free interface, speedy internet and irreproachable A/V, whether via SPMC/Kodi/RKMC etc. I also use MX Player with the MovieHD app and BBC Iplayer with a Smart DNS service, and all those work beautifully. Yes, one day I'd like to get wifi working on MM on my RKM V5, and yes, it would be good to have real ON-OFF via remote on the NT-V6 instead of just turning off the screen.. But those things require a resource.img tailored to the specific device in question, and where will that come from? For now, this is more than good enough.

Not using the surround sound formats and having no receiver does indeed mean a more pleasurable experience.

Here is the FTMC that I used to test.

Thanks indeed, Bluesman, that's the build I downloaded (serendipity). It's a powerful piece of work alright. That Aeon Nox skin may take some experimentation, but it quite transforms my old look-and-feel. As a side note, I do pipe my Samsung 65" TV's audio to my 70s-style hi-fi system (with a DAC in-line) via the TV's Toslink output: that gives me room-shaking bass and crystal highs when I need that! So not entirely an audio Luddite here - but I find the preoccupation with DDT, sacred CD and Passing Out among current-gen devices something of a distraction.

Aeon Nox is an acquired taste for sure and the one I posted is the same build from Superceleron but with Confluence instead, so might be worth a look if you want the default skin.

Thanks again, that skin version is very helpful to me.

I just BBQed my Beelink R89.
Unfortunately there was a power cable of an external 3.5 "hard drive on the desk too. 12V were a few volts too much ...
Can anyone recommend an inexpensive replacement with compatible hardware?
Many RK3288-Boxes are no longer available or very expensive.
