    Btw,
on 4pda is OTA zip and OTA zip with Ugoos kernel.
Installed the 1.1.4 from 4pda and can notice nice improvement.

Didn't test the temperature behaviour yet, but my first observations are that it is similar to the 0.3.0 version.

The apps that wouldn't work properly on any firmware but the Vasily, work properly on this one.

Apps that would display in phone size screen now display full screen.

Gonna have search for, and eventually remove, bloatware and that will be the end of my journey searching for a suitable firmware as I can live with this one.

Thanks for pointing me to the location of the files.

If one has root, this can be modified according to personal preference.

      /system/build.prop :-

      persist.sys.app.rotation has 3 possible values, force_land, middle_port, original.

Thanks wasn't aware of that, but since you clearly know your way with firmwares, I have a question for you.

Some apps are designed for touch screen, so need a mouse to scroll. Is there a similar way to make them respond to the remote?

Trying to install the A 6.0 - 20170916 OTA on another box, running A 7.1.2

Copy zip file to SD card, and tried usb as well, and rename to update.zip

Boot up in twrp, but twrp sees sd card and usb as empty.

Boot up in stock recovery, install from external, stock recovery sees the update file but fails to install.

          What I do wrong?

            Not with IR remote.

Only air mouse with gyro in wireless mode or wireless keyboard with a tab area which can give continuous coordinates.

After trying so many OTA firmware  you would have now known OTA upgrade is sensitive to your current state.

There is no Android and no TWRP which allow you to 'upgrade' anything to anything without giving checking on what you currently at.

Twrp unable to see usb when booted sdcard could be because of that particular twrp problem. Try a different twrp. If use the twrp from my source, you want to download again.

But still, after detecting usb and sdcard, TWRP it will perform checking of compatibility.

I use the TWRP from your source, renaming it to kernel.image, as you told me before.

I come from stock 7.1.2 and want to go to stock 6.0, so should be no problem.

Just want to avoid that I first have to flash the May version to be able to install the September version.

Can't find an image for the stock 20171609

What is the version of Twrp displayed on screen ? If it is 3.2.1 then it is from the problem one. If it is the 3.1.1 then it is the latest one in my download.

Two different ways to boot twrp. Traditional way is rename to recovery.img. Using the '3 files method' rename to kernel.img.

                        It's 3.1.1 since I use your file, should i use 3.2.1 instead?

                        Edit : TWRP is 3.2.1-0

Edit2 : TWRP does see usb storage and SD card, but think they are empty, however there is the update.zip on it

I think there is a clear difference between twrp for android 6 and twrp for android 7. it would likely involved installing a new bootloader.

I have never installed Android 6 firmware and so not much help I can offer.

You might want to install android 6 using usb cable.

The 3.2.1 twrp is obviously for Android 7, and my current firmware is stock 7.1.2, so it should be able to at least see the files on the sd card

I would prefer to flash with burning tool, but I can find an image for the 20171609 firmware.

If you have a link please post it.

Otherwise I first have to flash 20170805 , then install the OTA, and then install the Ugoos, all a bit time consuming

Since you like ugoos am3 firmware so much, perhaps you can go and download the latest ugoos Am3 firmware on 7.1.2 and burn it using usb burning tool. The latest ugoos am3 firmware on ugoos website is 2.0.6.

The wifi and display will not work as somebody already commented.

After that you can boot using my boot image using the '3 file method' on sdcard. Then you will have a working wifi, working front display on ugoos am3 firmware. This is not something I have tested before, purely based on my "extrapolation" of how thing works. Try it at your own risk.

Use the latest boot.zip in the mega link posted earlier. As you seem to be using the older one (based on the fact that your twrp is 3.2.1 instead of 3.1.1).

If the combination works, you can then later considered writing into the flash for booting without sdcard.

                                Btw,
on 4pda is OTA zip and OTA zip with Ugoos kernel.
I resorted to first flashing 08052017 stock 6.0, then apply the 20171609 OTA, and next the Ugoos 1.1.4 OTA.

I looked at the files OTA and OTA-kernel, and they are only 300Kb different in size, where I thought a kernel was much larger.

What I notice is that however I install the OTA without Ugoos kernel, it changes the kernel info in the " about tv box "

The kernel version number remain the same, but the kernel date changes from 25 august 2017 to 4 January 2017 .

Now I wonder if it would make any difference if I would flash the Ugoos OTA straight on the 08052017 stock instead of going to the additional trouble of doing the the 20171609 stock OTA..
