It's a bit strange that the firmware can support both 2GB and 3GB Ram. Maybe it's an error made by some human. It does not care about your storage size, 16GB or 32GB does not matter. But normally 2GB and 3GB rom cannot mix.

Yes. This is the reason why I will not try this firmware too.

At the step to upload the iso, is it the recovery.img file we're uploading and using?

I have flashed the 7.1 firmware. I have a 3GB version. The file I used was downloaded from MEGA (posted on page 25 & attached to this post).

A screenshot is attached to this post of my Settings > About Media Box >

So far I don't notice anything new.

I found latest stock Android 6 build 20170502 (20170606 ...according to 4pda forum) or Samde v.19.
