    Thank you
I think you misunderstood. He dropped Android 6 Ugoos and went to stock 7.1.2 via stock Android 6.

Ugoos firmware need to be ported for it to work on x92.

Thank you. Yes, I was thinking later he is probably not talking about Ugoos.

So, I read most of the thread and 4PDA and did not see talk about 7.1.2 port from Ugoos, so I guess we dont know if one is out there?

Can someone explain why my S912 box with stock firmware says Fota Platform S905X in the build properties?

Probably something meaningless, could be inherited from some older firmware. My guess.

Doubt it's from older firmware since the date is correct 11/12/2017 and the box never had a S905X processor lol.

By the way all the boxes I checked so far have the same line there.

Sounds strange to me at least.

Another question, I want to use a Minix A2 lite air mouse on this box., but obviously the power button on the remote doesn't work.

Any idea how to fix that.

Is there a remote config file somewhere in the clouds that I could use for this?

No need for the stock remote to work, as now it is only used to power up the box.

Not saying firmware is old. Developer never build things from scratch, once something gets into a text file, if it is not broken, nobody will bother to remove it.

You can define additional buttons to turn off the box. But these buttons cannot turn on the box. Only one IR remote button hardcoded deep inside the bootloader can turn it on again. To change that you have to modify the bootloader. Unless you know how, don't try changing the bootloader.

Would it harm to port the complete build properties file from the Yugoos 1.1.4 to the stock firmware, and would it have any possible advantage?

This firmware also runs about same temperature as the Ugoos, so happy for now :-)
Hi Jancales, so I have tried everything. Looking to get back to square one. I have the Ugoos 1.1.4 right now, and would like to go back to stock as you did. Could you please tell me 1-what method/firmware you used to get back to A6 stock, and then was the 7.1.2 update using SD card / update.zip? I am sorry to ask, but I have tried most everything. Thanks

You can download stock A6 dated may 2017 from the tread on 4pda, you can flash it with usb burning tool. After flash let it complete boot up.

You can then download the December 7.1.2 OTA, which is linked a few pages back in this thread.

Open the zip file and extract the zip only to an sdcard, do not copy the other 2 files.

Boot up in recovery by holding reset button, install update from ext / sd card.

You will see the green android man and update will fail.

Press reboot and it will automatically boot up in recovery. ( no need to keep reset pressed)

Select install update from ext/sd card again.

Now you will see a different symbol ( white circle) that the update is going on, and it will complete.

Just to confirm, is that the SD card "Firmware from 05022017 "

or the PC "Firmware from 2017.05.08 OR re-casted on 08/05/2017 "?

EDIT -- ok, got it. Thanks so much. And you did some edit to build properties -- does that help a lot?

Somebody posted a ported minix firmware for x92 on the 4pda x92 thread :-

                            It's an Android 6 firmware.

Looks like this "porting" the quality is quite bad. I don't think it is a useful port.
