By the way, it's almost definitely your power supply if all your shutdowns are abrupt. I know I sound like a broken record, but I've been building these 'true octacore' builds since September of last year, and I remember going thru exactly what you describe until I switched from the stock power supply.

Now, the only time my box ever hangs (it doesn't shutdown, it stays on) is probably about 1 out of every 20 times I run anTuTu, and only with anTuTu, when it gets to the 67% mark and all the cpu cores are punched to the max - but even then - it doesn't power off, it hangs when it happens. But it still stays on and it's rare and only limited to once in a blue moon during those anTuTu tests.

Shomari, is it possible to make a firmware for this box? I know the M8 Pro rk3368 isn't a popular box but maybe more people would use it if it had better firmware. The firmware on it isn't very good. I would be happy to test it and report back.
      thanks

Do you need 4 amps of juice to run them? Probably not. But I had to do it that way to be sure to eliminate any variables concerning adequate power during early debugging.

I don't get a single shutdown with these power supplies. With the stock power supply I would get shutdowns here and there, especially during benchmarking when all threads are stressed.

You won't lose any data flashing the images in the archives provided. For each variation flash both the kernel and resource in the archive.

These files are targeted for the Z4, all your components will function correctly. Please let me know if there's any screen artifacts, someone on 4PDA once said there was screen banding on their device with the earlier (power menu fix) build. I've altered the frame buffer and uboot configurations and may need to revisit them if any additional reports of that come in.

Also please let me know the results of your Mele mic test. (I think it was you that mentioned it)

These will also work for devices with AP6330 wireless chips.
          Only 5 Mb?

You're in luck. I'm at my workstation right now, I'll make you a few versions: stock, true octacore, and one overclocked at 1608.

That way you can choose if you want best performance with the true octacore, a factory stock setting one (still custom tuned but without cpu hacks), or one that's overclocked but still has a working power menu in case you like to reboot/power off your device.

Kernel/resource in the archives, so yes.

              Full firmware https://mega.nz/#!bNwFDBjS!4mfrgm8C6...q2X8Wy1h2u3YC0

Once you flash the full firmware you can flash the kernel/resource from the archives provided, as needed.

Friendly reminder: there's many code differences across each and every image in my firmware. If you mix and match images from my firmware builds with images from other firmware, you're going to lose a lot of carefully tuned optimizations that work in combination.

A perfect example is the RK throttling scheme. If you swap my boot image for the boot image from another firmware, you'll reintroduce elements of RK throttling and cpu hotplugging, as well as lose the HMP tunables I've set in my firmware, and lose memory and graphics enhancements built into the firmware - and that's just from swapping the boot.img.

It's fine to mix and match, you see I don't even care to put my name into these builds or 'brand' them in any specific way, but keep in mind that the firmware is structured and tuned very meticulously and swapping images will almost always have unintended consequences on performance/stability, especially with these builds since they're so far off the beaten path in how things are implemented.

You are Awesome! I will be happy to test and report back to you. Really Really appreciate it.

                  .
I believe most TV boxes use a standard barrel size of 5.5mm X 2.5mm, that's the key info for sizing, and of course make sure it's 5V.

Price for mine shipped was $9. I would provide an item # to search but that would only be good for US residents due to shipping costs, etc.

Can you flash this resource and see if it boots?

You can flash it on whatever firmware you currently have. I just want to test something, I need to figure out the correct pin configuration for that box.

Also, does any of the firmware I've uploaded run on it at all?

Hi Shomari.at the moment testing true octacore fix...lan is working freat...will test further on iptv. About mele f10 pro. Tbe sound and mic is working from remote. to switch back to tv sound i had to install Soundabout apk. , so i would be able to switch between media audio sorces. But as soon as i instaal the Sa apk and try to switch back to usb host, which is mele f10 pro, the sound is coming out from remote, but mic is not working. The perfect solution for me would be- for mele mic to work in both cases as i switch between sound outputs wether usb host or hdmi in soundabouth apk or maybe its possible to do it in some different way without soundabout apk. Thanks

Sure can. I'll flash it and let you know what happens. No, All the firmware you have provided will flash with no errors but will not boot. Only gets to Formatting /Data and stays there, no matter how long I leave it. Only once did I get it past that point but thats when I got the weird blank green screen. I can flash the resource image with AndroidTool correct?

                          Yes, flash with Android tool.

Guest I don't have that remote and I understand it's proprietary to Mele boxes as far as compatibility goes, so it'll mostly be on you to do the debugging work.

Install Logcat Extreme and reproduce the issue and upload the logs, that'll help me determine if a solution for your case is possible.

Flashed the resource image. Flashed successfully, first boot went to screen with penguins on top and E: failed to mount /external_sd (No such device) below that Formatting /data....
then green screen. Next boot stopped at Formatting /data...

Newer kernel, better video support, improved browser, etc. Fixed Skype/webcam issue (unreported but found during testing) and some other miscellaneous improvements. Also - pretty serious vpu bug fix that curiously nobody reported but I also found during my own use.

I don't quite like the latest update I posted (Z4 specific one) with the reboot/power menu fix, it doesn't have the same performance as the others but people wanted to be able to reboot from live system badly for some reason. Going to have to refactor that, because I won't be updating that branch at all in its current state.

                                I'll be in touch..

EDIT: there's a good amount of ported MM code in my firmwares, so it gets tricky if you start to pull the images apart and mix firmwares with parts of other builds. I hear from people all the time that try to piece together different firmwares with mine, only to realize performance drops dramatically or other issues come up that don't exist in the full firmware when they mix and match.

As far as testers go, we take what we can get. If you look around the forums, it's an issue that's common, there's very little testers and very little feedback. You'll get a fraction of the users ever providing any feedback of any kind, yet some wonder why there's little incentive to add tons of feature bloat with such tiny feedback, which is essential when most of the features requested don't apply to one's particular use case. So it goes...
                                Thanks for the feedback.
Do you now wich users I like most? Those who come around with their specific question/issue and they give never a feedback, if your offered solution works or not. Anyhow. Thank god, it's Friday and there are still enough users with good manners.

Will check right now your latest Z4 releases. And will start porting my own ROM, that it fits to your resources and kernel files. So then I have at the end somtehing like, Build to fits its Master of RK3368 speed needs. Or in more common speech "Ready for Shamori OC/T8C" Or maybe "S-OC/S-T8C Ready". Don't know witch sound better? Anyhow, you know what I mean.

Keep up the good work. Ill be back ....
