using this rom my box did nothing but freeze and have problems... it's working ok now back on the 815 stock firmware
I'll have that mind, I looks really cool but I'll stick to the Stock Rom for a while then

Maybe by the the time my box arrives all issues are resolved, some people seem to have too many issues with this ROM
but all the issues seems resolvable
I can`t wait to have that box in my hands

I'm back to the stock rom as well. It runs great, I cannot suggest installing this rom, since it freezes the box all the time.

official stock rom the box comes with is just great.

So, you're saying that I'm basically wasting my time here? Okay, I think I'll spend the next few weeks working on Rockchip devices. They need some love.

The stock firmware is in the first post (20170815.182813.V0321) - flash it with USB Burn Tool

No, no, no, many us our not saying that at all! I've been 95% happy with how this ROM is working and I'm sure many others are as well.

According to clsA in the quote above, you're in the minority, KBJ55. I was working on a version of the Precious ROM for all the Amlogic p212 devices (including this one), which might help you out eventually, but it has it's own issues. Sadly, no one has found the prefect ROM yet, and so you might have to settle for what the OEM gives you. After all, they actually get paid to support their products.

Well, I can only speak for myself and I much prefer your ROM over the stock version, no doubt about it. In fact, I was wondering if there was any update on the Bluetooth(USB dongle I presume))possibility?

And thanks again for your efforts!

Thanks, KBJ55! I'm glad it's working for some of you.

Unfortunately, I've found that adding support for Bluetooth dongles is considerably more difficult in Android than with Linux. I'll probably be setting aside that project too, but I was going to take one last stab at it after my order is delivered. At this point, I don't have any dongles for testing.

No biggie, it would have been nice but certainly not a must have.

I didn't really mean to offend anyone..
I tried the ATV Rom the day I got the box and it never worked correctly. I even formated data and reflashed it and tried it again and the box was freezing, Google play services force closing and Kodi and terrimum both froze trying to play any movies.

The only thing that fixed it was the stock firmware update (thanks again for posting it).

I have a rockchip 3399 as my main tv box this one was just meant to go in the bedroom and it will be fine with the stock firmware

This is why we prefer working with the burn package (.img file) and USB Burning Tool. You're much more likely to get into a mixed, problematic state with the OTA updates and the environment checks aren't nearly as robust. Unfortunately, we didn't get an .img file from the OEM until the 20170815.182813.V0321 build.

I have been using your P212 Android Marshmallows custom rom since June on my mini m8s ii, and your Q201 Android Marshmallows custom rom and subsequently Nougat on my Alfawise S912. I can categorically say that these roms has been an excellent piece of work, and i have no issues with them whatsoever. I've actually been looking forward to the P212 getting the nougat joy. So sir, u are not in any way, shape or form, wasting your time, regardless of what some journeymen might say on here. You just have to read up the comments of people that really matter, i.e your fellow developers, moderators, senior members(people who actually know what they are talking about when it comes to custom roms) to realise that you are very much on point.

BTW, weren't there some images posted in this thread as to where exactly the reset button was on these boxes? I skimmed back through the thread and didn't see them, maybe it was a different thread?

Sorry, I think I posted this in the wrong thread. And my most recent posts may have been as well, I have the MECOOL M8S Pro + TV Box Amlogic S905X Android 7.1 2/16GB Fast Lan, WiFi 802.11b/g/n and that's the box I was referring to earlier. Sorry for any confusion.

I installed via OTA and it's working great so far, I know lots of people that are now buying this box and the first thing they'll do is install this rom. keep up the good work Guest
