Will the P212 boxes still get the Nougat joy please?

I'm still trying to get Bluetooth working on the p212 boxes. The plan was to use the M8S Pro+ system image, but apparently there are precompiler directives that need to change and just adding the needed files won't do it. Without source, that's now a dead end.

My current effort is to adapt a S912 ROM for S905X, which requires downgrading Mali-T820MP3 to Mali-450MP. Still working on that.

I have a question about that ROM before I buy Mecool M8S Pro+
Will this remote (https://www.geekbuying.com/item/MX3-...es-319093.html) and its microphone work with that ROM?

I have that remote and it does work with the Google search, but it is flaky.....

I have one (w/o mic unfortunately :/) and I don't know, what you mean. Maybe it would be better, if it would be mat, but it's not such a big deal. Thanks for answer though I can buy it now.

I should have been more clear, the remote works fine, the mic is what works, but is flaky...... And yes, that is my "go to' remote.

I'll ask simply to be sure. Do remote and mic have full functionality?

The remote has full functionality. The mic sometimes works, but have to say the say thing a couple of times.

Hi,

Follow this steps to connect the box to the pc

1- Install the USB Burning tool and make sure the drivers are also installed.
2- Because you have a few seconds to make this work, plug one end of the usb cable to the pc, and the other one, gently place (point) to the usb port in the box, but don´t plug in all the away.
3- Press and hold the reset button and insert the power jack, as soon the light change from red to blue, quickly plug the usb and release the reset button, should be easy because you already pointed.

I also find it difficult to connect my box, and this away works every time for me.

Yes, there's no need to connect the power cord. USB OTG will provide enough power. Just ensure the reset button is depressed when you connect the USB OTG cable.

Tried just the OTG cable but no power LEDs !

Found that this sequence seemed to work for me to get connection

Start USB Burn Tool
Click Second Top-Bar Menu Item > English
Connect OTG (Rear USB)
Press-Hold Rest Button
Insert Power - Wait 8-sec - Connects (HUB9-4)
Release Reset Button (Blue LED on Box - NEXUS Splash Screen)pp

But having issue with Flashing - Keep getting ERROR code(s)

Not sure which Options should be Selected (Except NO Overwrite Key !)

UPDATE:
Person with little knowledge = Dangerous !!!


I removed the OTG and tried to re-Boot to Recovery ? TWRP
Got to the Standard Recovery Screen and it started reading from the USB/SD card (I put it in ready to Use TWRP but didn't get that screen)
Recovery started an Update and erased some stuff ?
Then got loads of Read Only Errors generated from SD Card ... Forgot keeps seeing SD as Read Only
Returned to Recovery Options Menu.

I decided to install from USB - Inserted real USB Flash Drive and chose the ATV zip I had already on the USB (version 1)
This Flashed and a quick Re-boot and now have a clean ATV Install

I think I got lucky

I can't get away from this rom... When I flashed this rom via the OTA app from the orginal firmware, I also erased Media in the OTA app.
So I just flashed the stock rom from this thread, but i'm still missing the OTA app, witch probably is because I chosed to erase media.

The thing is, The official rom is only released as a zip file, not a IMG, so I can't flash it with USB burning tool....
is there anything else i can do to get back to the official stock rom?

I don't understand .. do you still have TWRP or no ?
how did you get stock recovery and still be on this rom ?

If you still have TWRP use M8S_PRO+-20170715.093046.V0321-signed.zip
after you flash it flash TWRP.img and Magisk.13.3 before you reboot

that worked, and i'm now back to latest stock rom. However after rebooting the box, it still loses the time i set on it, and it's also back to japanse language.
is there any possible way to fix that? its like its some sort of permission issue somehow

Turn off CEC option. I forget what it's called, but it attempts to set language from your TV set's HDMI connection.
