Yes you are right. I used CPU-Z and it's actually S905x.

Guest Yesterday I noticed that my Mecool with Kingston memory has Amlogic S912 (firmware 14.09). Earlier I don't saw this (I think I have S905x). But your ROM works very well with my box (I have been using it for 2 weeks and no freezing).

OTA Update with wipe data. That's all. Everything works in my box (Netflix HD too).

I can not, put the zip on the sd card, put it in the box and go to the local file updates I select the zip file and do confirm. Am I doing something wrong?

In Terminal app type reboot update and you should get into TWRP recovery. Then you should update any ROM you want.

Firstly, thanks to everyone for all the great info on this thread. I purchased 2 units from banggood. When they arrived I opened the first one and it was a new version unit without the reset switch (and I assume with the Kingston eMMC). I flashed the latest version of ATV ROM to it without any issues and dual booted libreelec. However the second unit has a reset switch so I opened it up and it has a SEC713 eMMC. It's running version 20170815. I've seen that most with this box.

Well, that would have also been my recommendation. HDMI CEC auto-language selection is usually the culprit.

Rename the zip file to something short like update.zip otherwise the update seems to hang, format the SD card and put the zip file in the root. Use the ota app to install the firmware. That's it. I first installed the latest ota firmware (20170919) then the latest tvstock firmware. I hope that helps.
